1. Pre-Tournament Setup: Preparation & Prerequisites

Requirements to Enter

DOTAFire Account - All participants must have a personal, accessible DOTAFire account.
DOTAFire Team - The captain must create the team on our website and add all the members using their DOTAFire usernames.
Steam Account - All the players are expected to use their primary Steam account when playing.
Behavior - All competitors are expected to show sportsmanship and respect towards every participant.

Substitutions

There Can Be Only.. Two - Every team is limited to having a maximum of two substitutes in a specific match; all other players must be part of the original team.
Register - A substitute must be officially registered before registration closes.
Double Team - A maximum of five substitutes can be officially registered.
Non-Compete - A player can be a substitute, if and only if, they are not competing within the same tournament for another team, nor should they be a substitute for another team.
Requirements - A substitute must meet the requirements to enter the tournament.
Communication - Before the new match is set up, both participating teams must be informed of the substitution status of either team.

2. Pre-Match Setup: Who, What, Where, When, Why & How?

Setting Up The Match:

Who Creates The Lobby? - The team on the top side of the bracket hosts the lobby.
What Are The Lobby Settings?
- Server: The appropriate server for the tournament’s region. (Example: Luxembourg for EU)
- Game Mode: Captain's mode
- Spectators: On
- Delay: 2 Minutes
- Cheats: Off
- Map Version: Tournament
Which Team Selects First Pick Or Team Side? - The team on the top side of the bracket selects First Pick or Team Side. In case of BO3, toss a coin, winner selects First Pick or Team Side, next match the other team selects First Pick or Team Side and in case of match 3, toss a coin once again.
When Should The Match Be Set Up? - The match should proceed as soon as both competing teams are shown in the bracket. You do not have to wait for earlier rounds of the tournament to finish, just start your match as soon as you have an opponent.
How To Contact The Other Team? - When the tournament begins, go to the registered teams list where you can find all the teams and all their members, there you can PM any member of the opposing team or simply use the "PM Captain" button.
What If The Other Team Doesn’t Show Up? - If a team does not have five registered players that are ready to play within 15 minutes of their match being posted, this is called a no show. Whenever this is the case please send the report using the "Report Win" tab on the tournament page using the following format:
- Title: DOTAFire EU/NA/SEA Round <RoundNumber> - <YourTeam> vs. <Opponent> | NO SHOW
  Content: The content should contain a screenshot that clearly shows the five team members of the captain's team in the game lobby with the timer being at 30 minutes or lower (lobby timers start at 45:00, so 15 minutes should have passed). Also it must be clearly visible that the other captain has been contacted repeatedly.

3. In-Game: Possible Disputes & Pause and Delay

Possible Disputes

Unsportsmanlike Conduct - One can report cases of prevalent, unsportsmanlike conduct by sending a screenshot proving this behavior to a Tournament Admin after the game has been played. It is advised that this information reaches the admin prior to the reporting of outcome of that particular match.
Unplayable Circumstances - If any player is rendered unable to play, the game can be paused to a maximum of 10 minutes. Each team has the right to pause the game for 5 minutes for any problem that occurs during the match, however, if a player is unable to reconnect or continue playing, his team can continue playing as 4 or can forfeit the match. In case the Steam servers are down, the match will be paused until the servers are back online.
Pause Abuse - If any team is using the pause function abusively, for example, suddenly pausing the match during a big teamfight, it can get disqualified from this tournament if the opponents decide to report the situation. Note: You’ll have to send the match replay followed by the exact moment when the problem occurs to the Tournament Admin.

4. Post-Match: Reporting Scores Correctly

Reporting The Match Outcome

Who Reports The Outcome? - The captain of the team which was victorious should report the match.
To Whom Is This Reported? - To one of the Tournament Admins involved in the tournament which you are competing in.
How Is This Reported? - Please use the "Reports" tab to report the win (this tab will appear once the tournament begins) and make sure to fill in the correct round number, enemy team and game tag. The notes should contain a screenshot that clearly shows the outcome of the match. The screenshot must be uploaded on Steam or imgur.
Do Not Report Match Outcomes Through Other Means - For everyone's sake and sanity, do not report match outcomes to the Tournament Admins in a different way that described above, as this not only saves time, but they might lose track of your report which may result in the match being regarded as not played.

5. Advanced: Miscellaneous Rules & Special Situations

Miscellaneous Rules

I Expect You To Dine - It happens frequently that one of these tournaments interferes with a local dinner time. While it generally is expected that one simply plans their moment to dine around this tournament, sometimes that is simply not possible. If this is the case, then the captains of the two teams who are about to start a match could decide to take a moment to eat. The captains are expected to agree on a time when the match is going to be played, as well are they expected to inform Tournament Admin. The maximum dine time allowed is 30 minutes.

Special Situations

No Show - If a team does not have five registered players that are ready to play within 15 minutes of their match being posted, this is called a no show. Whenever this is the case please send the report using the "Report Win" tab on the tournament page using the following format:
- Title: DOTAFire EU/NA/SEA Round <RoundNumber> - <YourTeam> vs. <Opponent> | NO SHOW
  Content: The content should contain a screenshot that clearly shows the five team members of the captain's team in the game lobby with the timer being at 30 minutes or lower (lobby timers start at 45:00, so 15 minutes should have passed). Also it must be clearly visible that the other captain has been contacted repeatedly.
Forfeit - Sometimes it happens that part of a team cannot show up, or decides to forfeit the match prior to commence. Whenever this is the case please send the report in a private message on DOTAFire using the following format:
- Title: DOTAFire EU/NA/SEA Round <RoundNumber> - <YourTeam> vs. <Opponent> | FORFEIT
  Content: The content should contain a screenshot that clearly shows the opposing team forfeiting the match.
Not Played - On a very rare occasion it might happen that neither team shows up in a playable condition. Whenever this is the case, please contact a Tournament Admin directly through a private message and report that neither team is able to play.

Note that an admin may also flag a match as not played whenever it takes too long for them to receive a report. Once this is done, it's unlikely that they will be able to revert it.

Legend
Tournament Admin - These people control the tournament, set up the brackets, can resolve disputes between participants, and make sure recorded outcomes are properly processed.
