I really like this build and have used it every time i play sb, and i have a 75% wins with sb so i know my stuff with him now, but id make a few changes: go stout shield, gauntlets and two tangos, then a bracer, then treads, then aghanims scpetre (it is INCREDIBLY good on him and makes you such a threat, then mjollnir getting the hyperstone first and after that get anything you want really i personally go heart then divine rapier, but otherwise perfect guide and the stat progression is perfect good guide
Shadow Blade isn't needed on SB - if you wanted to gank, and gank quietly, by charging and going invi so wards don't reveal you - just get smoke - much cheaper, bonus MS too and you go invi up until the last moment (which at night for most heroes) would be too late.
I just want to add that if you want to be more teamfight-y or play more of a hardcore ganker role picking up an Aghanims is amazing on him. Otherwise, this is a solid guide for a semicarry/hard carry SB.
I used to be a MoM proponent, but the recent change made it so its not necessary. A mention of shadowblade as a viable option seems warranted however. It gives surprise initiation, extra attack speed, backstabbing damage, and another escape all in one item. SB is also not the best carry either so I like to turn him into an initiator anyways which SB gives you. Bashing through their team then using your ultimate in the first to kill target works wonders for your team. After a Treads, Drums, SB start I then go for straight attack speed (assault cuirass or Mjollner or both) and the games almost always over.
The big downside is where to lane him. Generally speaking most people who read dotafire guides for help are in dual lanes so i say off lane with a long range defensive support like SD, Lion, or Jakiro. Someone who can help you secure treads plus Bracer to start ganking.
@samukobo Well there are a lot of items to consider but Midas is a very very situational item on any hero. I've seen a game where a warlock had total free farm, went midas and got a 25 min Aghs and went on to win the team the game. So yeh, Midas is a situational item but so are many other items. I'd rather try to keep the guide as concise as possible.
It seems pretty good if you're the safe lane farmer and your team is dependent on you- it gives Decent Attack Speed, and transmute can help you snowball better into the late game in and between ganks/pushes.
That being said you can get MoM very early on SB, and at least in pubs you can use it to destroy other lanes before carries really have any of their items. Surely situational, but as long as you don't pop it in the beginning of a team fight I really like the item on SB.
One question, wouldn't the speed bonus MoM gives you help your greater bash do more damage? I have been mostly building MoM, Drums, yasha into SnY on SB (race car sb), getting a bkb whenever needed. I'll need to try rushing armlet into maelstrom though, as I love armlet and it gives huge damage/stats for the money.

Definitely situational though.
