I like to play Treant as a different character that not many understand. The mask of madness is a great item, but I struggled after leech seed had worm off to kill the melee str heros, so they turn and run. Therefore the power treads are better, because you can make use of more situations through increase speed, be that offensive or defensive. Mask is a nice extra.
Hello fowbo999. I played a Treant game the other day. I had to play manly support role but after reading your guide I decided to be super aggressive at the start of the game. I started off 3-0-1 a few mins in, just dominating the lane (poor rage-hard Kunkka;) I kept to a spport build but I was soo tempted to follow your build I was the only 1 in our team being aggressive in fights and initiating. I am glad that our Clock was a really good player and started to take the initiative in fights later when he was phat. I rushed a refresher so that I could lock the other team down longer + spam my other skillz. Great game - got the win!!!
I think that Peppo_oPaccio makes some great suggestions also. I would like to try your items out, but do other ppl winge at your build style? gl hf
I have to say, Mask of Madness is actually a decent item on Treant but you shouldn't rush it. Taking Power Treads first - maybe even an Armlet of Mordiggian - would be better if you're playing a farming role as the extra damage you deal with the MoM active is too little for its price and its drawback early on; the lifesteal is also minimal and you don't need it anyway because of your other skills.

I wouldn't recommend a Daedalus; instead, take a Desolator if you really want damage or an Abyssal Blade for the extra lockdown. Monkey King Bar should be considered, too.
Also, I think you can add an extra Iron Branch to your starting items.
