I never tried MoM on mortred, the damage from the dominator gives a lot of advantaeg on early game, that's why I go for it.
HoD isn't really picked up for the damage so much as armor and lifesteal. Mortred is so squishy that even with her evasion, she drops like a fly if she gets targeted. Lifesteal helps to keep her on a single target for as long as possible. MoM could really help to proc her ulti, but it makes her so vulnerable, I wouldn't get it.
