Critshaker is fine IMO... it's just like Jungle LD or Axe. It's perfectly viable, and it's great in some situations. However, it can be better played elsewhere (ie. in lane).
@ Muoikhoang:
-Being viable didn't explain why it's a good choice.
-And if he had hard time against QOP and Puck, i'don't thinks that mid will be easer against OD, viper, ember, Uskar, or a Shadow Fiend (and every good mid).
For exemple: Abaddon carry is viable, it don't mean that carrying with it is a good choice, most of the time another pick would be better.
-That's why we need some details, what are the situations when you want an ES mid.
ES mid is entirely viable, but of course only against certain heroes. Queen of Pain or Puck will screw him hard, but then again those two screw every other except for maybe Razor.
If your are gonna go mid, then it is appropriate to max Enchant Totem first though, and aftershock second simple because the damage is too good. If you do the math, you get more damage out of the double-totem trick (cast totem first, wait till it's off cd, blink in Fissure and hit, then totem again for another hit).
You should properly add Black King Bar as a situational item.
And add some pictures too, I sucks at reading (****ing SAT critical reading, got 600 **** :).
Cheers!
Some questions: I digress with the max Enchant Totem second.
Enchant Totem only increases from BASE damage. It has a really weird scaling throughout the game. Its better maxing Fissure first for the increased nuke damage, it is more useful.
And as Khorwin suggests, this hero is kinda like Pudge in mid. Terrible lane control, as Aftershock is like Rot. It has a terrible scaling anyways. He is easily defeated in lane by a ranged mid.
I dont think mid is the good way to get fast Blink Dagger. He farms heroes by early roaming and ganking, gathering assist gold for a Blink Dagger. Going mid as Earthshaker is very greedy and overall removes his early/lvl 1 gank potential.
Earthshaker mid is EXTREMELY situational IMO, and even then it is still a bad mid. Quite easy to shut down by ganks, and easily harassed by any ranged mid.

Why playing ES?
When I see the video, ES is played like a Tiny or a stormspirit or a pudge (combo skill nuke).
The problem for me is why playing ES witch have the carry potential of a pudge (no real carry ability) instead of a tiny or Stormspirit?
