EDIT: It just occured to me about your logic of Burning Spears. That's just plan dumb. Maxed Burning Spears do awesome damage and DPS. Very good against Refraction. Anyway, you will only switch to lifesteal after you kill someone. Huskar exceels in killing people with only 50% of his health pool due to Berserker's Blood. So keeping his health at the max will rather defeat his purpose.

I don't think you get it either. Here is some math for you to ponder.

With Dominator

221 every 0.38 second for 581.58dps.

If you take 350dps in return, at 2316HP you will survive 6.62 seconds.
In these 6.62 seconds you will deal 3,850.05 damage which will in return heal you 577.51 hp, allowing you to survive 1.65 seconds longer.
This allows you to deal 959.62 more damage. This compounds further (I'll only go one further) into 143.94 hp, and 0.41 seconds for 239.18 damage.

A grand total of 5,048.80 damage. Surviving 8.68 seconds against 350dps.

Now, without dominator, and instead, with spears.

195 every 0.38 seconds for 513.16dps
You survive 5.88 seconds (due to HP loss from spears), dealing 3,021.78 damage.
In 5.88 seconds, you can toss ~15 spears. Each spear will deal 20dps/7 seconds for 2,100 damage.

3021.78 + 1,820 = 5,121.78 damage. Surviving 5.88 seconds against 350dps.

As you can see, the damage values are almost the same. However, spears are magical, you cannot use them on a BKB user, not to mention how many more times you will die due to having essentitally 1000 HP less from lack of lifesteal.

PS: I didn't want to spend 6 hours remembering math, so some of these values are static, however they are static on both sides so it shouldn't have a huge effect. If you want to do better math go for it. But the whole point of this build is staying alive and being a tank. Not having the highest DPS. If you want to snipe, be Drow.

And obviously, against refraction, you'd toss a spear or two for the ticking damage to knock down the Refraction. You don't have to deal 20 fire damage to knock down refraction. 5 does just fine.

Lastly. Lifesteal carries and builds into Satanic. Burning spears builds into nothing and does not carry. It's almost the worst orb in the entire game, except for the fact it is an orb.

P.P.S: This fail-math was done at Level 16. At level 25, the burning spears would drop off EVEN MORE. Especially as a Satanic comes into play.

It's good, rushing Armlet. Though, you do need Boots of Speed if you're against Pugna, Puck and those that deal massive damage. You would harass them with Burning Spears and potentially dropping your life. Therefore, it is important to get Boots of Speed to avoid this spells.

Why Vanguard in situational? It should not even be there, you want to be tankier? Get Bracers.

Mjollnir is also pretty situational. You will need HoT if you're getting this. If not, you'll run out of hp too fast, which will obviously kill you.

Vanguard is generally quite a bad item, as it's only use is reducing many instances of low damage. For example creeps, or most importantly, illusions. Up against an illusion hero such as Naga or PL, a vanguard can become extremely effective.

And yes, they are posted as situational luxury items. For only extreme situations.
