Hello, playing dota 2 for a few weeks now with most games on meepo. Having 66% win rate with it and carrying most of the games unless having 2+ counter picks like shaker, void, sven. The question is how much the dagger can add me in fights ?? It takes like 1.5-2 sec to spam poof and then blink to location, by that time the target often is out of range and not every poof lands if any. So for initiating I prefer earthbind first and if successful close the distance. I would agree that using the dagger for poofing to an initiated fight would be great but there not many fights like that in a session. Half if not more encounters are at close range so blinking is pointless imo, earthbinding is much faster in these cases for sure. So what do you think and what is your choise ??
Blink Dagger is definitely not a complete core since you can just stack up on raw STR now, but it's always nice to have the skill mastered for certain occasions. Blink Poofing is great if you don't have an initiator to cover you from long-ranged disables like Deafening Blast and Ice Path, which would make walking up to your target a complete pain (and easily wear you down before you land a single hit). A Blink Dagger gives you instant mobility to set up for Geostrike and some reduced-Poof damage to be aggressive in situations where you would otherwise be kited to death, even with Earthbind. It's great in combination with a Scythe of Vyse to deal with Heroes like Storm Spirit if you're not the team's main carry, but otherwise, yes it is better to just stock up on Reavers and Hearts.
