Top seeded Team Empire managed to sweep the competition yesterday in order to become the champions of the fourth The Revenge tournament and take home the $500 prize.
Even while fielding an incomplete team, with the notable absence of their captain Artur 'Goblak' Kostenko, Empire's star players of Gleb 'Funn1k' Lipatnikov and Roman 'Scandal' Sadotenkov along with guest star Dominik 'Lacoste' Stipic managed to clear a clean path to the title. Notably, while Lacoste is a famous Broodmother player, it was Funn1k who took to playing this hero when Empire drafted her in two of their four games on the second day.
For their StarLadder Season 4 counterparts, the end result was less rosy, as Virtus.Pro went out 0-2 against eL'Pride in the semi-finals. While VP had a strong end of the year run, it was largely on the back of a fairly predictable draft, and they seem to be having some problems adapting to changes which have been forced upon them as other teams have become more aware of their style of play. This was also seen during their The Defense #3 game up against is Romy and the Rest, in which they lost in a 0-1 upset.
