Thief-AU'bit



Bio: Many common folk fall prey to the quick witted, silver tongued, Miser known as Au'bit, a man who would take you for every gold piece you had without hesitation.
Au'bit was mostly an ordinary man however those who knew him well, knew he had many tricks up his sleeves, he often resorted to sly and deceitful tactics to overcome his obstacles.
Those who would however underestimate his fighting prowess would quickly find themselves cut down in a display of swift and painful defeat.

Pickpocket- slows target and disables 1 item in there inventory for X seconds,
duration and slow increased with rank.

Bribe- at the cost of gold you can damage target XXX, amount of gold that can be converted is increased with level,
you can adjust the amount of gold used.

Sleight of hand- permanently steal 1 gold from target when you land a successful attack,
amount stolen increased with level.

Greed- Increase the passive gold received by X, increased with level.
Or
Greed(V2)- Increase the stats of AU'bit by a % of his current gold.

Strength- 19 + [1.7]
Agility- 22 + [2.3]
Intelligence- 20 + [1.1]

Hit Points:|511
Mana:|260
Damage:|41-48
Armor:|3
Movespeed:|315
Attack Range:|128(Melee)



Pickpocket-lvl1 Slow 20% for 1 second, disable a random item in targets inventory for 20 seconds
lvl2 Slow 20% for 2 seconds, disable a random item in targets inventory for 25 seconds
lvl3 Slow 20% for 3 seconds, disable a random item in targets inventory for 30 seconds
lvl4 Slow 20% for 4 seconds, disable a random item in targets inventory for 35 seconds

Bribe-lvl1 At the cost of gold you can adjust the amount, deal damage to a target up to 250,
damage type is physical, 10 second cooldown.
lvl2 At the cost of gold deal damage to a target up to 300, damage type is physical,9 second cooldown
lvl3 At the cost of gold deal damage to a target up to 350, damage type is physical,8 second cooldown
lvl4 At the cost of gold deal damage to a target up to 400, damage type is physical,7 second cooldown

Sleight of hand-lvl1 orb effect,buff placer do not stack, permanently steal 1 gold from the target hero,
when a successful attack lands.
lvl2 permanently steal 2 gold from target hero when successful attack lands.
lvl3 permanently steal 3 gold from target hero when successful attack lands.
lvl4 permanently steal 4 gold from target hero when successful attack lands.

Greed-(Ultimate)lvl1 Increase the passive gold gained by 0.5.
lvl2 Increase the passive gold gained by 1.25.
lvl3 increase the passive gold gained by 2.

Greed(V2)-(Ultimate)lvl1 Increase Au'bit's stats by 1% of his current gold.
lvl2 Increase Au'bit's stats by 2% of his current gold.
lvl3 Increase Au'bit's stats by 3% of his current gold.

Note: At level 1 he will gain 6 gold every 4 seconds at level 2 he will gain 9 gold every 4 seconds and at level 3 he will gain 12 gold every 4 seconds. If AU'bit has Greed(V2) level 3 and is holding 1000 gold he will have a bonus of 30 stats.

This hero's abilities are too powerful, especially his orb. Stealing 4 gold may not like sound much, but you get to attack around, say at least 100 times in the game and at the same time harass the enemy hero. Maybe nerfing it would be a good idea. I guess that's all for now.

Ya,stealing 400 gold from the enemy team does not seem very game breaking to me, but I don't know.

Hmm... So this hero will need some "money management". For example, when heroes die, they lose their unreliable gold, but keep their reliable gold. So the plan is, keep all the reliable gold, and use all the unreliable gold, so that you will never lose your "bonus stats".

What you said about the gold steal is correct, its not game breaking, but that's exactly the problem. It has to do SOMETHING important for it to be a skill, or it will be quite redundant. I have a suggestion for this skill. For every hit, you steal a moderate amount of gold (say 8 gold at level 4) per hit. This gold will increase your stats, and help you in the fight. After a fixed duration, half of the gold you stole will return to your opponent. So you still get the 4 gold, but you've done more to aid your team in battle.

Also, I suggest you buff his strength and agility. His skills do not help him escape or initiate in any way, so I assume he's a carry. He only carry skill is his ultimate V2 (which I like, by the way), and he will easily get outcarried.

EDIT: Make his ultimate only increase his agility, and make the bonus 4% of his gold, then it will go with his **** stats. Otherwise, increase his base stats.
For every coin he collects, Au'Bit grows more committed to his cause.

There was a hero in dota one called the gambler that was based around gold. He was removed for a good reason. Quite a few hero ideas have been posted about the art of gold and in my early dota years created a hero that was based around gold. The concept will most likely never be added back to dota though.
My lone druid starting items are 12 Iron wood branches, 6 for the hero and 6 for the bear. Even if the bear does not get stats more twigs are OP on any hero.

A little mechanical info into the ability Pick Pocket.

1 item in the inventory of the hero the skill is used on will be disabled, it can be a TP scroll or it could be a Heart of terrasque or a Blink dagger, effectivly disabling the item.

If an item with stats like a Heart of Tarrasque is disabled the hero will temporarily lose the stats as well as the regen, disabled items cannot be used,consumed,sold or moved from the inventory.

If the Aegis of the immortal is disabled the target will not respawn from it if killed, however when they respawn they will still have it.

Items with auras that are disabled will negate the aura. exp...Vladimir's offering,Mekansm and gem of true sight.

If an item has an activated effect and is disables if the effect is currently active for example Mask of madness the lifesteal will be disabled but not the temporary attack speed bonus.

Black King Bar can be disabled, however if the target is magic immune it will not be slowed or lose there magiuc immunity but they will still lose the stats from the BKB.

Items which grant armor,magic resistence, evasion,bash and movement speed will also temporarily lose those effects. for a simpler example lets say your laning against a lich who has only boots of speed, using his first skill at level 1 on the lich, the lich would suffer -50ms for 20seconds as well as a 20% slow for 1 second.

for the Heart of Tarrasque, you lose the 2% regen when attacked, but with Pickpocket you also lose the +40 strength and 300 hit points temporarily on top of the regen, so losing those stats would drop your health pool by over 1000 and if your a strength hero you would lose 40 damage.

It certainly can be a crippling spell with a little bit of luck, say for instance a void chronos your whole team, but you manage to disable his battlefury, well then you may have just saved your team from a complete wipe.

Or imagine that specter with radiance who is causing you so much trouble, if you disable the radiance and a team fight breaks out your team will have a significant advantage.

Hower there is no gaurantee you will get what you want you could also disable that gg branch that specter is carrying aroundXD
