Yesterday when I saw Fogged kill ush on Invoker I honestly couldn't believe the new streak gold system. Same with Sing on SF. Fogged got 2k as a Wisp and just immediately bought a vlads (The Invoker had a wicked sick streak, so not even THAT huge of a streak). To get an item off of one kill is far too powerful. Fogged even said "No way this is right" in chat.
I'd love to compare this new system to one of my most hated games on the planet: Mario Party (The later ones, like 8). When I play with my friends (Which is rare because I hate the game), I'm usually doing pretty well. I do well because I win a lot of the games and make pretty decent decisions for items, rerolls, etc... Well half way through the game they now give a "chump charity" which is gold to everyone who isn't in first. What the f...? I mean... To get 40 coins for me in the game is like 4 mini games, that's 16 total turns between all 4 players. And someone gets that gold for free because they're doing worse than me?
I get the idea. Comebacks are more possible than ever. This is how I see it playing out: How many times have you smoked into the opponents jungle and saw a Shadow Shaman or something and said "No, screw that. He's worth nothing. Specter is MIA, we need to kill her. She's jungling." That Specter is now going to play SOOOOOO safely because dying with a streak could completely turn the game. I think it's going to lead to a much more defensive playstyle, which I don't think is as entertaining to play or watch.
I hope I'm wrong. I love the new runes and everything that encourages activity and leaving your lane. This new streak system seems to have the opposite effect (Again, I hope I'm incorrect and it stays moderately aggressive).
Also I think this will put a lot of strength into heroes that can both set up ganks and save allies (Like Shadow Demon) because of their versatility. I just watched Fnatic vs Xgame and Buugi on SD saved a 5-0-5 Specter at the VERY last second with Disruption in a team fight, which lead to them only losing a Magnus for 4 other opponents.

The reason he got so much was because of the net worth of the Invoker.
So basically; you get paid more money for killing someone who has more gear than someone who doesn't.
I'm waiting for the day where a hard support Jakiro ends up making 5k gold for killing a fully six slotted hard carry.
Watched that game too. I literally couldn't believe everyones reactions to it.
Did they change streak ending gold in 6.82? I read the changelog but I don't remember anything about that. I kinda already thought gold was too high, but 2000 is ridiculous. I see the merits and ideas behind it, but in practice that's just crazy.
