Spirit Breaker on the other hand is taken quite the fall from rank 2 all the way to rank 47. What's more telling though that it's a 30% less relative games played as in 6.78c due to substantial lead he used to have in 2nd place. This is your typical Pub mentality. Yes, Spirit Breaker was nerfed having both his attack speed decreased and his ultimate change so it can be interrupted. But this kind of dramatic change in position is a bit an over reaction from people crying about on how the sky is falling, the minotaur flying across the map, etc. If we come back these numbers in a few months I'm sure we will see Spirit Breaker a bit higher but definitely not where he once was. In Captains Mode we saw him as a European support pick and a Chinese off - lane pick a fair amount in 6.78. Now though hes virtually non - existent. This is not only because of his nerfs though, but because of the general and hero changes in 6.79 and onward there are better choices for both.

How it should be

If only the players didn't build MoM which I find highly stupid, it wouldn't have brought to this huge nerf. Because the Power Treads, Mask of Madness, and Black King Bar are an old traditional Garena build when Spirit Breaker had Magic Immunity on both Charge of Darkness and Nether Strike and +100 DMG from Empowering Haste. After the rework on Charge of Darkness and the removal bonus DMG from Empowering Haste, Spirit Breaker was no longer a carry but a ganker, disbaler, durable, initiator (which before he was both carry, disabler, durable, initiator who can kill a 5 man team without stopping him) who could be a semi - carry or a carry hero against a certain pick.

I highly doubt that even certain DotaFire members here can understand that Spirit Breaker was never OP and it was only the lack of knowledge which most of the players don't have, they didn't know how to deal with him.

Sadly the thing that pains me is that I cannot pick Spirit Breaker again, against a pick such as Nature's Prophet, Tinker, Shadow Shaman, Lycanthrope, Ancient Apparition. A Spirit Breaker pick against a draft like this would absolutely destroy this push pick, but it's not a viable option anymore.

How should the Spells be leveled up

Some said that this will encourage morons to buy Mask of Madness again, which it won't. Just like the hero build changed for Viper, Juggernaut, Huskar, Wraith King (support build), Alchemist, Nyx Assassin and other heroes, the same thing can be done with Spirit Breaker and it's not Impossible. I'm sure that IceFrog will realize his mistake on what he did to Spirit Breaker (not just him bot to others as well). Like I said Spirit Breaker will be a bit higher but definitely not where he once was.

I had a 1 vs 1 match with Spirit Breaker but it was sad: http://www.dotabuff.com/matches/820531394
