Invoker Gameplay Strats (Please help me) :(

Ive been playing for around a year now with only a small pool of heroes which I can say Im good at. But im practicing Invoker for quite sometime because I really like the potential of fancy looking fellow with a lot of tricks up his sleeve.

I find it really good that my team mates would say that Im a good Invoker player but I find it untrue in myself, so I wish someone can help with this hero. I will state the strat that Im doing on games (general strats) so please do comment anything thats on your mind

I have based my strats on guides that I have read here in Dotafire mainly on Grimorum, Peppo, and In7. Cross referencing them as well as playing numerous times with bots but I still cant manage to improve (in someway huhu)


I usually go for 4-1-4 build or double spirit build
What I do:

Early Game- I can successfully harass any hero (creep aggro and blocking really helps, thanks for the guides here) that is in my lane (sometimes just catch up with the enemy hero with denies, last hits and rune control) which makes my enemy hero go on other lanes or just tower hug. Farm my core item (euls or force staff with boots, null talisman and TP in general) within 12 minutes

Mid Game- This is where I really get pissed off because this is the part of the game where I cant maximize Invoker (im such a noob) I tend to go solo hero ganking but fails hard (a lot of times). Sometimes I just stick to push out lanes. At this point I really dont know what to do.. As per the guides say, this is where Invoker should really pick up kills and push towers as well. But Im really bad at it. Furthermore, this is the part where I get to go slow with my item flow.

Late Game (Ocassionally)- I cant say anymore, if the goings get good. I may have an Aghanims or a Scythe of Vyse at this time but still Im not really a scary invoker :(

a replay id or your dotabuff would help a bit, need more information

However with that said, based on your post, you probably want to make equal time to farm and gank/push. Instead of going for solo kills, maybe try and work with another to secure that kill. 4-1-4 has enough potency to kill most supports but quas-exort Invokers have movespeed problems.

Post some games so I can see how you play, I used to play a lot of Invoker myself specially quas-exort.
