To make things straight, Valdar is not an easy hero to play with. But with precise decision on whether which form he should be, Valdar can be quite unstoppable if taken lightly. His evasion passive can be converted to a physical nuke active ability. One of his debuff ability causes enemy to enter "confused" state, going around on different location. This cursed enemy does not necessarily disabled, as they still be able to cast spell but with fatal consequence. To push Valdar's potential to the maximum limit, players must understand the mechanism of changing attribute according to situations and needs. On physical form, he increases his physical damage and has a chance to deal critical damage while in his Magical Form, he amplifies his spell damage. One of Valdar's specialty is to make an ally or more become stronger, as his ultimate allows Valdar and an ally to increase health and magic resistance. This indicates that Valdar is superior against heroes that only rely on nukes. With Valdar, it's either gain massive strength to pack a punch or gives up physical body and shifts to magical form to deal massive nuke.
