Sun's Grip

The Sola Empire, ruled by a vicious and cruel king, was one of many targets ripe for political coup, provided someone pays a high enough price. As one of the best mercenaries in the land, Glavidus was funded by a revolutionary party and tasked with assassinating the king. Infiltrating the royal castle and making it to the King's chamber was no easy task - which is why after it was carried out, the king's advisors offered Galvidus the throne, along with their limitless devotion.

Thus, Glavidus did what any king would do - ordered the killing of the party that originally hired him, thwarted any revolution that was about to break out, and started his reign as the new empreror of the Sola Empire.

Glavidus focuses his prismatic eyesight, obtaining unobstructed flying vision, free movement, and turning his weapon into Centurion Lance. Turns the time into day for the duration.

Concept

When you see "tanky", you think health, armor, magic resistance.
Glavidus presents a different kind of tanky, the Dilemma tanky. The goal is making enemies time their attacks correctly, or face Emperor's wrath. His Tankiness (not to be confused with His Majesty) comes from deploying effects from being attacked or controlled.

Q: SCORCH ARMS - Soft nuke, as well as condition damage. One level 4 instance can deal up to 140+490 magical damage, provided the enemy attacks constantly while under it's lengthy duration of 7 seconds. This effect would also prove to be a good laning tool, winning harrasment trades whenever it's active.

W: SOLAR GLARE - I always wanted more heroes with unobstructed movement: so far there are only two, and no carries.
Solar Glare allows Glavidus to hunt his opponents regardless of terrain, while Centurion Lance makes them think twice before striking Glavidus with any crowd control effects. Alternatively, Centurion Lance could be merged into the next passive: however, I think having this effect enabled at all times would be too powerful.

E: VANTAGE POINT - Passive built around countering ranged attackers. Synergizes well with Centurion Lance's debuffing effects.

R: EMPEROR'S WILL - Another threat that comes with damaging the Emperor. I'm not sure if the slow doesn't compliment his kit too well - in any case, the slow value could also be dependant on missing health.

LEVEL 20 TALENTS - Both effects add new functionality to Solar Glare, each countering different sets of heroes, making Glavidus a great pick against them. If True Sight proves too powerful, we could make it exclude wards (Dust already does this.)

LEVEL 25 TALENTS - "Stun Immunity" sounds like too much, however Glavidus has no movement speed built in, coupled with low base MS, and typically doesn't want to build BKB, as it robs him of the debuff sharing effects. I didn't want to give him Status Resistance either, since that also gives him less opportunity to throw debuffs at the enemy. Keep in mind that this is a 25 level talent, and Glavidus doesn't have many options when building items.

Design

I like heroes that make you feel incredibly powerful - Glavidus represents this both in his skillset and visual design. I'm not an artist so I can only describe it to you: I imagine a tanned man, in his fifties, but with a powerful aura around him. His face in a permanent scorn, his eyes red eternally focused. He's armored at his shoulders, chest and arms with a crimson armor with gold, gleaming finishes. Under that armor he dons a long coat that covers his feet. His cape is equally long, and split into five long "wings". When he activates Solar Glare, these wings spread out horizontally, and the coat moves with the wind. He wields his lance with one hand when no enemies are nearby, as if he was holding a scepter.

Graphically, his abilities:
SCORCH ARMS - The initial cast causes a circular rainbow lens flare to appear at his enemy's feet. The weapon model's (or hero's hands) become white hot with an orange gleam and start releasing steam particles.

SOLAR GLARE - The Emperor takes to the skies, and the same rainbow-colored lens flare appears at his feet (upon cast). His lance becomes bright, and leaves a golden particle trail.

VANTAGE POINT - A golden gleam appears at the attacking hero's head. Bright lines appear for a split second between Glavidus and his target whenever it is attacked outside of meele range.

EMPEROR'S WILL - Target area becomes basically coated by the sun, upping the contrast and leaving a burnt solar disk mark with complicated royal patterns. Enemies affected become bright and high contrast as well (similar to Magus Accord immortal item's effects). If a hero is killed by this ability, it leaves a burnt mark in it's shape on the ground.

Lore-wise, I'm not a writer either, but I wanted to somehow imply that Glavidus was gaslighted or straight up brainwashed by the old king's aides into believing he is the rightful heir to the throne. These aides form a hidden state-like sect that controls the nation. Unbestknown to him, the Emperor of Sola has no real control over it and is only a pawn.
