Shadowthorns | The innate passive is just so important, it needed a skill slot so people can read it. Basically, they provide the same threat to enemies as a Bramble Maze, but they can scatter all over the map with the right procs from Malignance. Should the game last long enough, it would almost feel like fighting in a different place! |
Scorpion's Border |
A high utility spell that has uses in chase, escape, blocking choke points, and interrupting channels from a distance. As such, they were given a relatively long cooldown and high mana cost. What's also interesting about this ability is it uses a unique form of targeting: vector option

Apex Spike |
Balcraw's most reliable disruptive spell. An instant 2 second stun without risk of disjoint is very valuable. Remember that it also spawn a Shadowthorn on the target. Meaning it's not just a stun, it has the damage and slow of his regular Shadowthorns. The most interesting aspect of this spell, however, is its ability to just create 12 Shadowthorns on count of 4. Trapping the enemy in a circular formation of Shadowthorns that can be crossed when moving with precision. notes :

Malignance | I'm gonna go ahead and say that this is a filler ability despite the fact that permanent Shadowthorns are a highlight of playing with, and against, Balcraw. But he can actually work without them. The utility of both his Scorpion's Border and Apex Spike is enough to provide the disruptive support he is designed for. The active of this ability punishes longer fights, as enemies will only find it harder and harder to position themselves from all these thorns. |
Terraform |
In hindsight, the ability to stun every single enemy heroes on the map sounds REALLY powerful. And as a matter of fact, it is. As such Balcraw's main selling point. But this ability has plenty of properties that prevents it from being powerful:

Fortunately, it only needs minor adjustments, by CHOOSING ROLE/S. And I have suggestions for you.
Pos5(babysitter) - The support to pair with weak at laning stage carries like PA. Make him something like an Ogre, UD, or ET who will 1v2 brawl the offlane just so his PA get crucial early cs peacefully until she gets strong enough. Balcraw can 1v2 brawl by making E op at level one and doubling his attack damage. Then just balance him out at later stages of the game. Also make Shadowthorns not too level dependent to make supporting possible.
Pos5/4(control) - An all around support to pick if your team is not going for enough heroes with disables or if they pick control dependent heroes like Medussa. To make him fit, it is important to reduce the cooldown of W as it scales. In 5v5 you will most likely have to use it on enemy tank at first so it needs to be ready soon enough when you find a better target later. And Shadowthorns not too level dependent.
Pos3/4 - First, double his damage for CS'ing as Pos3. Then I think the best flavor for the hero is the one similar to Venomancer. He creates a zone of his own after spending some time, then almost no one will be able to endure him in his zone. Best when trying to protect yourself or pushing or claiming the outpost area as your own territory before the 10min mark. The best way to turn him into this is by giving him some attack range; and his Shadowthorns should be able to give him a stackable something(maybe atk spd and move spd) if he is in 1000 range. This way he directly gets stronger the more he drowns himself in Shadowthorns.
So those are my suggestions for your hero but he can also be fit in other roles as well if his skills are rescaled properly.
