I am a new player to dota and I think this guild works pretty well especially in limited heroes. Maybe you are bad in early game but you get a lot of powding realy soon and for me its worth it. Although I prefer to go for yasha before desolator.

This build only works on low level pub games.

I'm extremely confused that this guide got such low votes. Honestly, seeing the silly stuff I read in other Sniper guides, I really don't think it deserves this kind of treatment.
Sure, the formatting is not the best and some stuff isn't perfectly clear, but the problem that Sniper has no escape is honestly something you can't do anything about. Shadow Blade is a ganking item and only noobs use it as an escape item, so I'm completely fine with scrapping it completely. +1 for Phase Boots also, it can really save your life.
The big problem with the build however is the fact that your attack speed is extremely low. However you can just add in a Hand of Midas or rush the Yasha and it's fine ( Sniper is one of the worst farmers in the game so Midas is great on him). Or mask or madness is pretty good on him since if the enemy team jumps on you then you're dead anyways.
Also, Maelstrom/ Mjollnir are farming items, I see no reason to get them at all if you don't get them as first items. If you just want DPS then agility items/damage items are much better.
Don't forget the Black King Bar. DPS is useless if you get chain-stunned.

Since you're going an all out damage build without shadow blade, I think your attack speed might be too slow. Maybe treads would work well?

Mask of Madness is the way to go!

It is bad against high mobility heroes, but so is Sniper in general. Best way to play Sniper is hide in the back and kill stuff with MoM, while some tanky teammate trys to draw the enemies attention.

Personally i think that the only legit sniper build is going mask of madness.
You are going to die anyway if anyone catches you, so why not maximise your DPS and movespeed bu getting the MOM?

Sure some gap closing heroes will jump you and kill you instantly but that is your fault for picking such a bad hero like sniper against those heroes.

Ack, sorry dude this is a suicide build. Sniper may have great stats gain, but he's still slow and squishy with no escape. If the enemy team attacks you at all, you're dead. You need some stats items early on, building into more survivability and damage as you go, and some lifesteal somewhere along the line. Shrapnel is also useful, and should be levelled at some point.

To be honest, I don't like the guide much.. There are several things that stand out to me..

Not maxing Shrapnel early seems a bad choice.. It's a great tower pushing skill.. Everytime Shrapnel is up, you can cast it on the enemy tower, and chip it down.. You don't need the extra points in Headshot anyway, since the % chance remains the same. Not to mention, in early teamfights, Shrapnel is a great ability. Casting Shrapnel in a teamfight can be useful to bring down supports with a follow-up nuke or two.

Desolator into Daedalus seems a bad choice. You'll be fodder in mid game. I prefer getting a Yasha early. Since you are mainly right click, the agility, attack speed and the move speed are definitely useful. My item build would be starting with Phase Boots or Power Treads, building Yasha, and then a Desolator. At this point, you can either convert the Yasha into Sange and Yasha or Manta Style depending on preference (I prefer SnY), and then start building a Daedalus. I prefer SnY because of the better EHP it provides. Since Sniper isn't a natural illusion based hero, I find Manta Style to be sub-optimal.

Not using Assassinate? You're playing the hero wrong. Contrary to popular opinion, I prefer using Assassinate right after my team's initiator jumps in, rather than saving it to killsteal. It is a big chunk of damage, with a low cooldown, so it might even be up by the time the teamfight ends.

A Blink Dagger is a situational pickup, since you rely so much on positioning in fights.

Your theory of "stay right next to the carry in teamfights" is ******ed. Any opponent with half a brain would nuke you down (since you have paper HP anyway) before you can even say "WTF just happened?". In teamfights, your role is to stand back, preferably in the fog of war, while casting Shrapnel into the teamfight, and attacking from the fog.

Demolishing melee heroes like Ursa? Really? A half farmed Ursa with a Blink Dagger and Vladimir's Offering will blink on you and kill you in 3-4 hits. Sniper is not a strong hero by any means, unless he gets uber farmed, by which time, several other hard carries outcarry you anyway.

I understand your doubts, but I recommend trying before you vote the build down.
