I love play this hero, i got ten ultras and one rampage with this hero. This bird is very awesome to play with! With Arcane Orb + Sanity's Eclipse, of course......

However, behind his pros, there's always a cons, he is very item dependant (especially INT items) squishy, and easily countered by BKB or silence, or instant mana burn can destroy the main power of this hero, SPELLS.

Encountered by BKB? that isn't really really much problem. In the later stages, BKB have constant short duration (5) so it's enough to waste their spell immunity duration with ur astral so their spell immunity is useless.

Silence? OK, JUST REPICK OTHER HERO! OD is very dependant on spells to kill, so if any enemy hero pick a hero that have ability to silence enemies (or their core items are orchid) just pick any other carry that doesn't really much dependant on their spells.

Mana burn?
-KOTL does not much problem to be discussed, you just stay on your place, don't walk. And u have Astral!
-AM or diffusal blades. Not a problem, you have essence aura right?
-Nyx Assassin, your intelligence is extremely high in late game, so nyx's mana burn priority is YOU! the spell damage is deadly for OD, and reduces ur Arcane Orb damage, WTF! even if you want to retrieve ur mana, he have IMPALE! You cannot do anything!
Worse, his midgame item is Dagon, often combinated by Ethereal Blade! So ur last destiny is 90% DIE!
Solution for counter him? buy BKB and Orchid :) but it doesn't block his Vendetta damage......

Maybe try asking a guide creator to make a guide for this hero?
I am sadly not a mid player but I am sure that we have some folks around here who could create a good guide for him

ive played a match with this and gg,

i spammed the first abillity rekking evrybody then when it has its low cooldown i imprison them and repeat

but the vyse is a bit unneeded becouse the imprison has a low cooldown

I just want to say excellent build, I have recently got into OD, I like to think I'm alright. Using your build managed to snag me this epic game: https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/1654521359 I don't really care about the outcome as my team refused to push, but they had mega creeps and I was still able to get double and triple kills at our base resulting in team wipes. Late game may I suggest Agh's over Rod of Atos. The Rod is great early and mid game but once I have BoT, Refresher, Shiva's, Force Staff and BKB, I find that switching Atos with Agh's works better. Anyway great build.

Huge item. Can absolutely destroy late game, kicking 75% mana
Of of all the enemy heroes. Especially for Medusa, try mana shielding that

I agree that Aghanim's Scepter is definitely situational (I almost never pick it up on Outworld Devourer, but with the new buff in 6.82, I have found it fairly viable simply for the mana removal: When the enemy Lina, Lion, Zues, etc has 70% of their mana gone, it can be really devastating. Anyways, so good. Thanks!
