Pugna the Carry?

Yeah, I meant after bkb aghanims, the pickups I mentioned are good.. 8k gold though.. rreeeall mountain.. imagine 8k on a storm spirit or queen of pain..

Agree in principle Jas, but if you're gonna play Pugna like this you really have to be ballsy and rush it all. Probably mid-start, or an ultra-aggressive side lane that gets kills/assists. Between Aghanim's Scepter and Black King Bar you're adding nearly 600hp.

You really have to get both ASAP (over 8k gold) if you're going to have a proper pop at their carries - assuming they haven't picked Lifestealer, Juggernaut or Omniknight :). Mekansm just slows you down too much. Like the Necronomicon and Veil of Discord pickups thou - Bloodstone is also well worth considering along with Heart of Tarrasque.

All usual Pugna pickup situations apply really - against peeps with expensive spells, ideally no escapes. Go mid or with a lane partner who can pump out the magic damage ( Lina, Tiny, etc). Works well with a push lineup, etc. Go semi-carry build if you have a sniff of an early win, try not to pick him as a 4 or 5.

Any hero with items can carry - this is the pub flaw, if a hero isn't designed to carry, it is difficult to win with farm. by all means, experiment, but keep it in mind -
imagine a highly tanked/farmed Leshrac over 150dps on skills alone.. add a radiance, aganims, bloodstone, trasq - and he can just sit there with skills activated..
Pugna is an underated hero, I think he is strong and should be used more.
He doesn't have the HP to take too many hits, I can imagine with aga and bkb, he only has 1500?
based on your build - I would suggest a trasq - and a necronomicon - veil of discord would also be good.
If you get some early kills good farm, a <15min mecha would be excellent, you would benefit from the armor, and the regen will keep you in the fight longer, force more skills, and thus more damage with the ward..

Yup, Aghanim's Scepter and Black King Bar - however you're in big trouble once enemies start getting magic immunity themselves, or damage starts scaling past 300. Hence Pugna is a semi-carry at best.
