Nice guide +1
But can u tell me why u built eye of skadi? The effect just affect the main meepo right? And u already has geostrike that used by 5 meepos

If I may I am a rather skilled meepo player and I would recommend going mek after boots then class as the mek can heal all the meepos, that is if you have the micro skills.

We take Poor Man's Shield because when soloing easy lane you will get harassed and you need that block. after level 6 send the clone to the jungle and start stacking large and medium stack, while clearing small camps.you will probably want to kill the stacks after level 11 and from that time send 2 clones to jungle as they can clear any camp ( while having the main one farming lane) , in this way you may get level 16 before 20 minutes mark ( a bit hard though needs practise )
also I find an Ethereal Blade more effective than Assault Cuirass
Ethereal Blade
  • 40 Attack speed
  • 5.71 armor
  • 40 damage
  • really amazing active
Assault Cuirass
  • 20 attack speed(55 for the main meepo)
  • 5 armor (15 for the main meepo)
  • 5armor reduction for the enemy

So by purchasing an Ethereal Blade instead of Assault Cuirass you gain better stats for clones and it also costs less. you only lose 35 attack speed and 10 armor for the main meepo, while gaining same armor for clones and twice as much attack speed as well as amazing 40 damage.
You will probably only want to go for an Assault Cuirass if you don't buy an Aghanim's Scepter.

AC is probably one of the worst items to pick up on meepo.

Troll Warlord is by far Meepos best friend as his ulti gives all Meepos attack speed

Hey guys,

As a mappo player I felt obligated to share my experience..

I dont see why we need poor man's shield here as the damage blocking doesnt stack on clones
Imo its important to switch to power treads latest after aghanim.. Basically tranquil boots go into vladimir and treads and we need aghanim ASAP.. the next item is game dependant - if you are really confident that you can poof 4 mappos in less than 1.5 sec then get blink dagger as it is very imba to jump with 4 clones poofing.. I like to go for sang & yasha but anything stats related here goes well - diffusal, manta (mind that you can poof on clones), heart as suggested by OP (maybe the best choise for most games), halberd (if there is 1 melee hard carry) and I personally go for scythe of vyse if there is a tauren opponent as he is the most solid anti mappo hero..

I disagree that aoe is the counter of meepo - I think burst damage is more of a threat cuz if there is lina / lion or something similar its hard to save the dying clone..

As OP asked about other hero combos with meepo:
dazzle - i think is great as he is saving your dying clone occasionally and you have time to poof while his spell lasts.. also if dazzle times it well his heal while 5 mappos are hitting does solid dmg..
chen is fantastic as well, again because he can save a meepo or two and usually he goes with a bunch of auras..

Imo if you have meepo on the team you need to control your side of the map even better than usual - if you give mappo space he can clear the jungle every minute and hold as many lanes as required..

I go as starting items for tranquil boots.. seen some jungle strats as you guys suggested for quelling blade and shield but I feel most comfortably on safe lane with a support, pulling and stacking creeps (when level 6 the clone farms in the jungle nearby and can throw a net or two from ambush more easily)

Last I want to strongly agree with the comment above - ethereal blade is a killer if you can get it together as the poof dmg becomes insane and all the stats naturally benefit a lot..

This is a pretty solid guide, the only thing I disagree with is the lack of a different type of boots after Aghanim's Scepter; also, I like to pick a Blink Dagger or some utility items ( Drum of Endurance and Pipe of Insight are my favourite ones in your list) before the Heart, but it's personal preference I think.

Last thing: I'd start with a Quelling Blade if going to the safe lane, even though I recommend going mid and get as much experience as possible. +1

Diffusal? Butterfly? Really?

For the same price as the basic form of the diffusal blade, you can buy an eaglesong and get an extra 3 agility for attack speed and damage. Sure, you sacrifice the +int portion, but a single eaglesong gives you the option for an Ethereal blade for only an additional 1600 which brings the +agility to 40 and +10 to both Strength AND Intelligence. More bang for your buck in the item slot.

Also, Butterfly is trash on Meepo when you consider that Ethereal is cheaper and provides a bigger benefit to the hero as a whole.

Butterfly gives 10 less agility, no +strength, no +intelligence, and the other benefits of butterfly only apply to the primary Meepo, meaning that you come out of butterfly at a net loss of 20 damage via direct math, and even more than that when you take into account that the lower agility on clones means they're also attacking slower.

The final nail in Butterfly's coffin is that ethereal Blade's active ability deals direct damage AND sets up your target for a +40% damage poof-nuke.

Mention that Geostrike goes through magic immunity

The charm with meepo is that not alot of people can play him :)

This guide serves to change that. You deserve to burn in a heretics fire for this.

+1

But for me I prefer to only get one level Poof for transportation and grab a better slow early on.. and getting mekansm is generally a great move after scepter if noone on your team has gotten one

You could've said also about the neutral stacks, a good support doing stacks in every neutral until meepo get lvl 6 to get an extra gold.
Also, you did very good points here, undoubtedly will be of great help to many people.
