Which any jungle, top, or bot lane can do, really. Pubs generally don't give a **** about rune control and designate mid to do it completely. But every now and then you get a team that really, really does not want the opposing mid to have that control. As a person that generally plays a lot of mid heroes, it is incredibly, incredibly aggravating. Runes can also really help out a lane or jungle, Furion getting a DD means that he can more easily farm, or gank a lane really well.

Thus OD doesn't have to do it.

No. Junglers do not grab runes. Mid heroes are suppose to because it helps them get First Blood or so and not. Junglers keep a look out of runes. If an enemy grabs the rune, it is not the junglers fault. It is the mid heroes fault.

Generally, mid hero should be the one looking for runes. Having junglers meant a slightly simpler job for you, end of story. Mid heroes should control rune, regardless how ****ty they are (or as you claim).

You NEVER EVER give rune control to your opposing mid, you might not have a bottle, I'm bloody sure they will..
you're build in general and items are correct - but not attempting to control runes as a mid hero.. no way.. pub or not..

OD is terrible at rune control, and doesn't need it if he knows what he's doing. Yeah, you could say that imprisoning someone who's checking rune will generally get you said rune. But it really puts you out there in a space you have no control in. QoP blinks forward, grabs the rune, you imprison her and turn to run. It was a haste. Now normally, in lane, OD would destroy QoP, now, she sort of has the heavy advantage against you. You'll probably be dead.

Well, I once seen one player who demanded mid lane, to be precise, it's Enchantress. At that time, we had Lycan as a jungle hero. (Just happen our lycan was better than Bambi at jungling). She refused to buy bottle, but she gets creep and destroys the runes with creeps unless the side lane wants them for some reason.
Just happened that Bambi really hates bottle. Won't suggest destroying runes though, but it is better than letting enemy get full control

Really, best friend Outworld Devourer could have is Zeus, OD makes Zeus pushing and killing machine, because he can use spells every cooldown (Q with 1.75 sec omg).

I would like you to elaborate on the Eth blade. can you not activate an orb through an eth blade like you would through a qhost scepter? and can't his intelligence get huge? and isn't attack speed and armor beneficial? It seems like a good Item to get in those +45 minute games.

No, no, no, no, no. No.

Ethereal Blade is absolutely terrible on OD. OD needs intelligence, he needs an absolute heavy amount of it. Considering Eth blade only gives 10 int, for such a costly 4900, it isn't really worth to buy it, even for the ability to orb out of it, or for the single person shutdown. Generally, for any sort of shut down or suvivability, you want a Scythe of Vyse, it's only 775 gold more.

If you really, really get a lot of attacks coming your way, getting a Ghost Scepter is fine in that situation, as it is with any other hero generally not a frontline carry. But don't get the full Ethereal Blade. Furthermore, if you can afford it, Shiva's beats out a Ghost Scepter incredibly in locking down physical DPS.

EDIT: I was drunk when I wrote this, let me try again.

Bro there's a difference between being constructive and being condescending. A very, very big difference. Given that you're still doing the latter and not so much of the former, I'll politely ask you to stop commenting.

If you're going to mid you need to have some form of rune control, if you don't want to get a bottle, that's a choice you make. The last statement about not checking the runes though, that's just nuts, you don't give the opposing hero full rune control. That's how you lose your other lanes, and that's how they counter your ability to shut them down, they just go gank with free runes.

In regards to Twodee, he was being a bit sarcastic, but as a writer you need to take criticism for what it is. He gave you some alternatives and you ignored them, touch on every subject he brought up, not just nitpick, that's the most aggravating thing when I'm leaving feedback is that they pick out what they didn't like about my criticism and don't give feedback on the rest of the comment.

You can full well have another hero doing rune control, it's harder, but feasible. OD shouldn't really be doing much rune control.. even though it's not exactly the most optimal thing to do, OD isn't exactly the most optimal carry either. If it's just a random pub, it wont really matter much, and giving complete rune control to your opposing mid will matter as much as giving none at all, considering nobody really cares about runes or knows what positioning is. If it isn't, well, think about picking up a jungler, and probably sending OD to solo the safe lane, or mid, and have said jungler do rune control. Another idea would be a roamer, or just having some good ganking heroes on board, pretty much roaming just the same.

Though, while a regen (most of the time), invis, or haste rune mean absolutely nothing to OD. Double damage and illusion runes are incredibly good to pick up. I should probably add this somewhere.

As for Twodee, I did address him, I gave him a response as to what he said and addressed his criticism. The issue is that, while he did give valid criticism, he gave it in a pretty arrogant tone. Which doesn't really fly.

Also, if you think I'm nitpicking, tell me, because I can't really see it in my own writing.

Well, it's more a general, "this is pretty much standard" than a "get this, exactly this way, every time." It should be more situational, but it's sort of hard to articulate that in the build order.
