One more thing I'd add to your "difference from LoL" section is something about there being no recall spell, and how the courier serves as your main way to get items from the main shop.
Very helpful and insightful guide, thanks :)

Atlas, correct me if I'm wrong buy Matrix 1 was the best. Aside from that, I'd probably add DK to easy heroes, he's super tanky, and has no complicated spells, heck, the creators used him in their newb guide.

Matrix 1 is definitely the best. And yeah, DK is certainly an easy hero to play. Will add him!

wow great guide. new player here coming form LOL so this was a great read. now i saw another guide said that denying creeps not only deny's the gold, but only grants half XP to enemy laner. also i heard from another guide that orbs don't stack (i.e. HotD and mojier).

It's a bit less than half XP and depends on whether you're a melee or ranged hero. If you're ranged, a deny will give you less XP than if you are melee. It's weird, I know.

And most orbs don't. However, the only ones that do are Lifesteal + Skadi. Even on melee heroes, regardless of the faulty tooltip in the game. Test it yourself and see.
