BTW, I have tested Mask of Madness on Riki, and found it to be the worst item you can get on him alongside Battlefury, ANY sort of invis and Aghanim's Scepter

I still hate this guide, and WTF is with the skill build? Maxing out Backstab first? WWHAT IS THIS??? A NOOBISH BUILD *cough* yes *cough*. The proper skill build should now be max out Permanent Invisibility first, Backstab second if you're having an easy game, Smoke Screen second if you're having a harder game and the silence radius is much more important than the extra damage. Since 6.82 getting Mask of Madness+ Skull Basher+ Power Treads is so **** on Riki it's not even funny, the fade time is way too long to make it worth even considering, and you are an idiot if you think Mask of Madness is better than Diffusal Blade, it's possibly the only item that you HAVE to get on Riki if you want to do remotely well after 1.5K MMR. Trust me, I have beaten so many Rikis because they went Mask of Madness and had no way to purge Dust of Appearance/ Orchid Malevolence/any other silences

This build is only good if you get fed, and I have never seen a Riki stomp with this sort of build unless his team is stomping and he's doing the worst thing a Riki can do, KSing

Don't get Mask of Madness, there's no point getting lifesteal at a stage of the game where you will be only healing around 15 health per hit. If you insist on getting some form of lifesteal (which really isn't essential on Riki), then get a vlads, because it will give armor, lifesteal, and mana to your ENTIRE TEAM. regen Also Diffusal is essential on riki, because it gives you agility (Which is what the character primarily needs, it can make you an even better chaser than you already are, and it can dispell dust (which is pretty freaken awesome).

Terrible, I've seen so many Riki players fail because they bought Mask of Madness... Diffusal Blade is so much better than Mask of Madness for the fact that it gives you mana burn, which means more damage, it gives you a little bit of int, which allows you to use your abilities more often, it gives tons of agi, you deal more damage from behind AND in front, and it purges Dust of Appearance and other invis revealing things like that, Mask of Madness is a VERY, OVERLY EXTREME SITUATIONAL ITEM, just like on Sniper, if you need the MS get a Yasha and Drums of Endurance, and Tranquil Boots, that's the best build for Riki, and besides, what real benefits to the hero does Mask of Madness bring? "Hey, I'm gonna use Mask of Madness and destroy you Queen of Pain"
"Yeah, okay, you do that, while I just use Orchid Malevolence on you and amplify all damage that you take by 60%"

And that's what happens when I come across Riki players who buy Mask of Madness, now if that Riki had gotten Diffusal Blade, he might have managed to get a kill on that Queen of Pain by purging the Orchid Malevolence off.

[Mask of Madness]] and Skull Basher may seem good on paper, but not if they have strong burst damage, and even if you get Black King Bar, a Lina with an Aghanim's Scepter ult, so you're ****ed anyway... "Yeah, but she'll just be bashed constantly so she can't even get Laguna Blade off"
"STFU, I AM TALKING. No, that's not true, it doesn't work, Skull Basher is blocked by Black King Bar AND its cooldown is longer than its stun duration, meaning that it's not so good. Guide sucks, will -1 it if the Mask of Madness is still in this guide in a week.

No Diffusal Blade? :{C

Although I have used this build in the past and have done well there is no excuse for the fact that MoM makes you really squishy, upon appearing in a teamfight they will instantly use dust, this is why the Diffusal Blade is strong on Riki because it burns mana which stops heroes like Slardar from stunning you if you jump on them. Another reason Diffusal is strong is that once you get dusted or revealed by an ability like Slardar's Ulti or Gondar's Ulti you can purge it with Diffusal Blade, if you want life-steal then HotD is good as it can be upgraded into the Satanic late-game or Vlad's. Earlier you stated the people would see you sneaking up on them due to its Aura, enemies are not effected by it so there is nothing to see and I don't think the enemies will be checking the melee creeps for the buff. Basher is a strong item on Riki alongside Diffusal,Some form of lifesteal (if necessary), Yasha (going into Manta because SnY isn't anywhere near as good). Late game Diffusal blade can be replaced if necessary with another form of slowing UAM such as Eye of Skadi.

I think that a pretty strong item...with that item game can finish in 30 or 40 minit without worry...
