Inverse Heroes

A concept of numerous Dota heroes as inverse versions of themselves: both thematically and gameplay-wise. While this will, as prior stated, include the anthesis of the heroes themes, the basic character design will still be relatively similar. For example, Timbersaw would instead love nature/trees but still have the same sort of silhouette and body style, except this time with a treant mecha or something lol. On top of this, inverse abilities doesn't always mean that abilities would straight up be opposites, for example the inverse of heavenly grace I have made is not just a status resist/purge/strength reduce on enemy units as that would not only be uninteresting but also something that has already been added (in the past sometimes) to the game (old enfeeble to some degree as well as decay).

An example of these inverse Heroes would be Omniknight being a demonic cult follower and the demon that he and his pupils worship actually having pure/good goals in the long run but taking a very underhanded path to get there. An example of these inversed abilities with Inversed Omniknight being the example include: Corruption, Hellish Effrontery, Solitary Energy and Vilifying Daemons. While normal Omniknight would be focused on the protection of allies and the slowing of enemies this version would focus on the debuffing of enemies with the buffing of himself, likely to some extent of leaching his enemies strength. As prior stated while there will be abilities that are basically just opposites of their existing base I have tried to have to have their kits relatively synergistic and unique.

In regards to the lore I have tried to use existing threads of things that already make sense while twisting it in some way, this would include how I have changed Luna's inverse to be a guardian of an already existing faith in the Scintillant Waste, one who worship a Sun Goddess as revealed in some of Lina's lore.

Inversed Omniknight: Blackened Knight

The leader of the induction division of his cult, the Blackened Knight seeks to expand his master's power over the world by corrupting and tainting pure souls and turning them to his lordships whims.

I wish I could be more inspired to write more/better lore but Omniknight's lore to begin with is so very very standard that I just don't really have the drive to further it.

This hero would, as prior stated, focus on the chaotic debuffing and buffing of enemies and allies alike. He would specialize in team fights and aim to disrupt the enemy with his arsenal of abilities. He would have very similar stats to Omniknight but have higher base damage at lv 1.

Corruption: Q

The Blackened Knight targets an enemy unit to swarm with the unholy powers of corruption and chaos, rending them of a percentage of their hp and returning the damage dealt as healing to nearby enemy units in an aoe. (Split amongst them, not individually healing for the total amount). All units healed in this manner will have their: cast point, movement speed and base attack time slowed for 0.4 seconds after this ability heals them.

Overwhelemed by the forces of the Order of Omoz, the Blackened Knight's enemies will have their life slowly torn out of them as they look upon the face of malice and cruelty.

Hellish Effrontery: W

The Blackened Knight converges demonic energy onto an enemy unit, driving them mad for a short period of time and attacking a random target within their attack range. The afflicted unit deals bonus damage to it's allies and is unable to use any abilities/items. If there are no valid targets in range then the unit will attack themselves for the effect's duration. The afflicted unit will not attack enemies in the fog. This effect is only purgeable by strong dispels.

Solitary Fortitude:

After using his powers for so long, the powers of the darkness and all things unholy have strengthen the Blackened Knight beyond belief. This ability grants increased movement speed, cast speed and base attack time. The cast point reduction also 25% effectiveness on all items with a channel time. This includes but is not limited to, tp scroll/boots, meteor hammer, trusty shovel and capturing outposts.

Years of harnessing the dark powers of the beyond have tempered the very being of the Knight into a bastion of resilience and energy.

Vilifying Daemons: R

The Blackened Knight gathers all of his knowledge of the dark arts to curse those who stand before him with debilitating horrors of the underworld. Enemies afflicted by this take bonus physical damage from all sources and receive a basic purge. This ability cannot be purged. The debuff applied by this ability pauses if the enemy enters a state of invulnerability.

Aghs and Shard


Aghanim's Scepter makes it so that Vilifying Daemons is global and reduces all health recovery on heroes is reduced by 30%.



Aghanim's Shard adds the ability "Mace of Dissolution", said ability is a single target ability that can be cast on allies to increase their
current/max health by 600 with a buff that erodes over the duration.

Inversed Timbersaw: Greenclaw

Deep in the very heart of the Yama Raskav jungle lives a post peculiar specimen. Originally a tribal Keen inhabitant, Rinnralm made a peculiar discovery in his search to stop the urbanized kingdom of Krimwohl, whose furry inhabitants are beginning their worldwide lumber expansion and deforestation. At the centre of the jungle lies many enchanted and magical flora, the most potent of which is the ancient trees that reside there. Also seeking to stop the spread of the technological terror the very jungle itself deemed Rinnralm it's protector and as such, enchanted a treant like body with all the magic they could muster. Now all who threaten the Yama Raskav must face the combined might of man and mother nature.

This hero would be similar to a sort of combination between Timbersaw and Treant Protector, as a sort of tank of a different sort and team healer and an enemy stunner. His abilities are all rather synergetic but with an emphasis on his W and R working well together to create a unique and powerful combination.

Gyre of Vitality - Q

Greenclaw summons a spiralling well of energy centred on himself, healing and buffing allies. If an ally hero is affected, it gains extra primary attribute for a short duration. Gyre of Vitality will heal more damage per tree in the radius. This ability does not affect Rinnralm. This ability does not destroy trees. The buff applied is only dispellable by strong dispels.

Vine Wire - W

Greenclaw launches a vine that fuses with the first tree it hits. The vine will not pull Greenclaw nor the tree, but will instead act as a tripwire that mini-stuns and damages foes. During this ability, can only move in a circle around the affected tree keeping at the radius when cast but he gains tree walking and a movement speed buff that increases the more he spins in one orientation. The mini-stun duration and damage scales with spin speed.

The last thing many intruders experience in the Yama Raskav jungle is the rustle of leaves, mad raucous laughter and the their balance being swept from under them as Rinnralm swings past.

Offence Annulment

Every time Greenclaw takes magic damage he applies a debuff that reduces the spell amp and cast speed of the attacking individual. Ability stacks dependently with a refreshing duration every time it is applied. Spell amp can reduce the afflicted's spell amp to negative values. Offence Annulment has a max stack count that can be increased with talents.

The flow of energy and life that stems from Rinnralm's blessing quells any magic that would do him harm.

The Blossomer - R

Creates a flowering blossom at a location up to 700 units away. Blossom deals damage in an area around and enemies caught in the flower will move with it. This counts as a root though the blossom does forcefully move the unit. The blossom pulls enemies through trees without destroying them, though it will capture enemies on/in the tree. After a brief delay, once created the blossom will slowly move towards Greenclaw. Greenclaw can move/use abilities while this is active but cannot attack, he can however use this ability again to quickly recall it. Once the blossom reaches Greenclaw it will bloom and stun nearby enemies. If the blossom is more than 1200 units away from is spawn location or Greenclaw it will wilt and the trapped enemies will be released. This ability cannot be dispelled.

Aghs and Shard


Aghanim's Scepter doubles the radius of The Blossomer and moves it quickly to the tree you cast Vine Wire on. Doubles the movespeed of the blossom once Vine Wire ends.



Aghanim's Shard adds the ability "Breath of life", which is a no target effect spouting from Greenclaws front that applies a buff that heals allies by 50 per second. Lasts 7 seconds with a 2 sec linger.

Inversed Luna: Sol

Deep in the eastern Scintillant Waste lies many strange and cruel people, but amongst these lies a group that remains the bastion of many poor souls who live or pass by these desecrated lands. The Faith of the Resplendant Sun is perhaps in many ways opposite to the Order of the Dark Moon in standard Dota for their selflessness, kindness, openness and overall balance. While this nomadic tribe worships their Solar Deity, she in many ways worships them: always watching over them with only kindness in her heart. Sol was a travelling healer that tried her best to save those around her, always doing anything she could to save lives. She became so famous for her work that she was dubbed the "Blessing of the Dunes". Sol was welcomed into the faith for her bravery and empathy and to this day remains her peoples most staunch defender.

Sol is an intelligence support that specializes in teamfight healing and auras that help turn a fight. She casts powerful heals that grant buffs but have a minor root, a heal that applies on attack, an aura and an ultimate that rains healing light in bursts upon nearby allies.

Solar Stream - Q

Sol targets an allied unit to cover in a beam of divine light, healing them and applying a status resist buff with a minor root. This root will act as a traditional root but is affected by the status resist buff for a reduced duration. Sol is unable to target herself with this ability though can be healed via her ultimate. This ability does NOT dispel.

Lumescent Scimitar

Every time Sol attacks her scimitar will release a projectile that bounces to allies, healing them for a percentage of her damage. While this effect can't bounce to a spell immune ally, it can however still be affected by the wave shard effect talked about in the respective section.

Light of Empyrean - R

Showers random nearby allies with strikes from Sol's current level of Solar Stream. These strikes do not root their targets, and there is a maximum number of times that a single target can be struck. Also turns night to day for 10 seconds.

Aghs and Shard


Aghanim's Scepter Light of the Empyrean turns into an area-targeted ability. It may be cast on an ally or ground-targeted. Reduces strike interval and increases stream count.



Aghanim's Shard when Solar Stream is cast, releases two Luminescent Scimitar heals. All scimitar bounces: have their search radius and projectile speed increased, bounce to the furthest ally in range and heal allies the projectile passes over.

Inversed Faceless Void: Optical Lacuna

Brightrest, otherwise known as Optical Lacuna, is head worshipper and enforcer of the omnipresent being Zsalc and by extension is a truly terrifying creature of cosmic power, both holy and unholy. Due to it's angelic (biblical design) origins and nature, it's very existence in this plain causes rips in space, which it often uses alongside its arsenal of magiks to barrage and bewilder it's foes to supernaturally driven insanity.

Ooh boy would this be one doozie of a battle disruptor. I've had this idea of something similar to Underlord's new ultimate (as of 7.31, aka the old aghs ability), basically summons portals everywhere that damage enemies that pass through and heal allies that go through, the portals would only have a very limited duration but also have quite a low cd as well + the other abilities would synergize well with them. God this would be fun, just flinging enemies left and right through portals and what not XD.

Spatial Pull - Q

Brightrest briefly stuns enemies in an aoe before pulling them to a targetted location, all the while being dealt constant tick damage. Enemies caught in the initial cast area will be stunned for the duration of the pull animation before being flung in the chosen direction. This ability has a min-pull distance and a max-pull distance. If Brightrest is interrupted at any point in the animation the spell will stop, if enemies are in the "pull" part of the ability and are moving they will maintain some momentum before slowing.

Brightrest tears a hole in space, pulling its enemies through Zsalcserm before rematerializing them in an instant.

Spacial Compression - W

Brightrest lets loose a wave of energy that increases the projectile speed of nearby allies, does not affect Lacuna itself. If an ally is already affected by a similar effect this effect adds on multiplicatively.

For those standing with Brightrest, any distance seems to shrink before them.

Spatial Severance

Every time Brightrest casts a spell it has a chance to release a bolt of energy, which quickly attaches itself to a random unit in a radius. Heroes have priority in the targeting effect. This bolt will either deal tick damage and pull the unit towards an available portal (created by the ultimate shown below) or if ally heal over time and gain increased movement speed.

The very utterance of the Ocular Lacuna's spells create aftershocks with dimension shifting force.

Omni Vortex - R

Through the rending of the soace-time continuum itself, Brightrest tears wormholes in mortal plane. These portal will damage enemies that pass through and heal allies. This ability uses vector targeting similar to invoker's ice wall but with the portals on either side of the line, the further away you cast this ability the larger the distance between the two portals.

AGHS AND SHARD


Aghanim's Scepter makes omni vortex a vector targetted ability and increases the max range of Spatial Pull.



Aghanim's Shard adds the sub-ability "Spatial Slam", while in the cast animation for Spatial Pull the player may choose to reactivate the ability to slam the enemies into the ground dealing the total damage immediately and stunning for 2.5 seconds but not flinging them any distance.
