Ahah now that time has passed and we've seen people play this, a suggestion: consider Ethereal Blade, for nuking those *****es.

So, I confess I was very skeptical when I started reading your guide: Mirana mid, a Dragon Lance, what is this ****. Then surprinsingly you make very good points, concerning which you're clear and convincing - and you've teached me a few tips also. With some humour. For all of this, my +1.

Even so, I would like to ask you two things: first of all, if you say yourself the hero excels at the utility/#3 role, why do you give it mid? Specially since, as you also say yourself, she wins the lane only if she has kill potential - what if the other mid has help or if you're ganked, isn't it a complicated lane that needs very specific conditions to work?

Second thing, and related to this: I've been trying her offlane, where I think she is viable in pubs (depending also on the enemy composition ofc). What are your thoughts on this?

Finally: that Dragon Lance still itches me, because as you said, her damage is neglectable, so what does it matter if you attack from farther and stay alive (alive but useless)? In the first half of the game your damage comes from your spells (for which you still need to come closer, at least Starfall), on the second half it comes from your right clicks, but you need damage items for it to matter. Can't you get away without boosting her survivibility or by doing it with another item (such as the S&Y)?

Cheers,
ChiChi

Hi!

I've gotten a fair amount of flaming from teammates when they see I've built a Dragon Lance, and to be perfectly honest I only tried it because it was a new item and I wanted to see what it was like. I just happened to be playing Mirana. While playing I realised how much more utility it gave me. Attacking towers out of range, auto attacking from behind trees, auto attacking miles away from team fights etc... For me it's just a more fun alternative to Drums. Not absolute core, but it makes a difference. Both offer stats, but the drums active is basically the same as your leap so I prefer the extra health, damage, range and attack speed. SnY was my go-to item before 6.86 funnily enough, but to be very honest I've sort of fallen in love with Dragon Lance on Mirana. I can't explain it properly, but it really does add so much to the hero. Just give it a try once and you'll see what I mean.

I take Mirana mid for the same reason Pudge is taken mid - ganks and fast levels are very important for mid game domination. Even if you're up against a lane dominator, you still get experience faster than other lanes and having a lvl 4 nuke in just a few minutes that takes away 75% of a person's health bar is ******edly valuable in the early game. The earlier you get levels, the higher your kill potential. I'll be honest, mid really isn't her natural position, but if you can secure mid you'll see how beneficial it is.

As for Mirana offlane, I take her solo offlane probably more often than mid. I just prefer mid because of the kill potential, gank potential and runes. In offlane, you're trying to not die most of the time and even if you land an arrow, there's usually another hero that will stop you from doing much with it anyway. Also, ganking is limited. Sure, you can TP to other lanes and whatnot but this is all personal preference. I wanted to make a guide that shows that Mirana is a viable mid, but I'll probably end up adding a section for offlane Mirana at some stage.

Thanks for the feedback and the +1!
