If I post the above two embedded image links into browser I can see the said images, however I get redirected to something first. But just as embedded image I get the failed to load icon, like broken link.
The choice to go for Power Cogs to contest the rune is preferred if you are outnumbered. However, i've noticed that in many of these fights the number of heroes on each side is the same, in which case battery assault gives you more first blood potential.
I'd say save the first skill point until you need it.
