Hi, my name is Mr. Ceverino and this is my first time creating a guide for dotafire, and this is also my first time creating a guide for any heroes since Dota 1.I will show you how I play sniper and please note that this is my play style and not the only way to play sniper effectively. So please read everything and enjoy.
Sniper is an agility hero. He is one of the heroes in which you can have a good time because he is pretty easy to play. He is very fast once you reach a certain level but take note that he has low health, that's why it is one of the factors that you need to fix in order to ensure that you won't get killed once in a while.
Here are some of the factors you need to learn about Sniper.

Sniper has 4 skills and I will explain everything in its most simplest way.
SHRAPNEL - this is his first skill, this skill is basically use to slow enemies while dealing damage overtime. This skill is also used for destroying buildings on towers and on the barracks when pushing. This is the reason why I choose this skills to be on Level 12 to 15 because I only use this on destroying the barracks.
HEADSHOT - this is his second skill, basically deals ministun for about 0.5 second and also deals bonus damage which helps during clashes and saving your life.
TAKE AIM - THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL, YOU AREN'T A SNIPER IF YOU ARE NOT AWAY FROM THE ENEMY ARE YOU? THIS ISN'T UBERSTRIKE OKAY?
ASSASINATE - the best skill, his superskill. He loads his sniper rifle to deal a large blow on the enemy, your shot.
* Your team mates might get mad at you for using this, because you will steal their kill.
Conclusion
Sniper is a good harasser and a good damage dealer as long as you're using your attack range to its fullest. This will help you to escape once you know that they are on to you.
He can go at any lane as long as the player knows how to control the lane.
But preferably, he should go either bottom lane but usually at the middle lane for the sole purpose of solo experience and having to have the gold from the creeps just for you (if you can last hit them)
Remember that if you are going for the middle lane, you should still harass the enemy hero in front of you while at the same time last hitting and denying creeps
FASTER EXPERIENCE = MORE SKILLS
There are many heroes which is good when laning with Sniper if you are going to be on the side lanes. I will list some heroes that for me are good when it comes for a kill and also to controlling the lane as early as possible.
First
1. Earthshaker - basically, you will be harassing the heroes in the opposing team and when their health goes below 50%, let your friend Fissure the Hell Out of them and kaboom! You guys get a kill.
2. Visage - if your friend has his second skill, just keep on harassing the enemies with your long range so he can have his souls fill up and congratulations.. you just got a kill.
There are many possible heroes with him, but this are just two of them. You go and experiment with it.
As you would notice, his items are really expensive in which it would require a lot of farming and last hitting, and if possible, killing heroes once and a while you have those extra gold for those LUXURY ITEMS.
My first priority would be to get the phase boots as much as possible for the extra damage and also for the phase ability in which you can use to get a kill when the enemy is retreating.
Next, I might choose between the Helm of the Dominator or the Shadow Blade depending if we what is needed during the situation, but usually I'd go for Domi for the additional armor and the lifesteal. ( you know, for surviving. )
After a few more minutes, you would have enough money to buy Manta Style and then, go for the Butterfly and Daedalus and unleash hell.
If you want them to feel to quit Dota, buy a Desolator and go and kill them while you are in their fountain.
Well that's it, this is my first guide and I will continue to update this once I have the time. Always remember that this isn't the only way to play Sniper effectively, I would like you to read the others guide for this hero.
