Yeah, there's a tonne of extra stuff in the Extended editions, so much so it's basically a new movie in and of itself.

Part of me hopes the extended editions of The Hobbit would kind of redeem them. But I'd have to own and watch them to find out and that's just noooooooope

Since you just can't have enough Chaos Breaker.

The Hobbit is a disgrace and one "money well".


It was one book that was shorter than any of the Lord of the Rings books and they both have about as much movie time made out of them. Too much. Also the director was a bad choice.

It was always going to be at least two films, because despite being very short it did cover a lot of substance (Lord of the Rings features a lot more... frivolous world building, with the songs, and the very lengthy descriptions, and less deliberate story advancing. It's less comparable with modern works as a result)

The actual material they took in to make it 3 films wasn't (Well the major bits of it) stuff they just made up, it is things that actually happened at the time in the lore, indeed even happen in the Hobbit, it's just not shown on stage.

So whilst a money grab, it was one you could justify. Until they just made them really ****ty films.

Since you just can't have enough Chaos Breaker.
