One major counter to Viper is illusion based heroes xD He sucks so bad against them.

Hum. I have one for each position ;)

#1: Troll warlord. Bashes, misses, lots and lots of attack speed (and building lifesteal)
#2: Pudge. Yeah. I enjoy hooks, and even the missed ones teach me something o3o
#3: Dark seer. Big teamfight ult? Check. Wide AoE disruption and damage? A shell which DESTROYS squishy carries early game? A great escape? ALL IN ONE HERO.
#4: Sandy king: Stun, teamfight ult, invis and a pseudo-nuke? YESHZ PLESE.
#5: Venomancer. I love being the bane of hp pools :3

Yeah, he has no AOE at all. Except one called "Kill everyone in sight" 5 second cast time.

Well this used to be timbersaw but ive had troubles playing him in my recent games.
Clockwerk on the other hand has always been a favorite of mine, Hookshot is such a fun ability and it is amazing if you get an early scepter, your enemies wont be able to handle you.

Brewmaster is also a really succesfull and fun hero to play, the sheer power over teamfights he gives you is just amazing. And since people hardly pick him pubbers cant handle him.

Well, I enjoy heroes where you can blink around everywhere such as Puck, I build Windranger in a similar way too.
But favourite is Nyx Assassin for the moment cuz you appear out of nowhere and nuke down people. Good fun.
Your new diet for heroes; You will need 4 wards (cuz wards taste better), 1 set of tangoes, 1 mango, 1 cheese.
With this you can make a nice Tango Mango Cheese platter. You can wash this all down with a nice bottle of water, Can be flavoured with red, green, yellow, blue, purple AND GOLD!
Caution: Taking roshan 3 times is required.

I love Jakiro Because you throw the ult and they either back off or lose the fight. Aoe stun and epic puch is also nice. Tiny is also great because you can avatoss people into oblivion earlygame, and then disassemble their base lategame.

Faceless Void, I can chrono my 5 stack in the enemy fountain and leave, haha but really. I don't even know what my fav hero is, I kinda just play whatever is needed these days...don't really play 1 hero in particular which as nice as that sounds is an issue because my skill level with different heroes is so flat...i really need to just play a bajillion games with about 3 heroes.

And im rambling along again, I think the hero I enjoy most atm is probably Ember Spirit I love zipping all over the place :D

When I get to play them:

Centaur Warrunner - Tanky and nothing says fun like seeing the blood fly from a double edge

Bristleback - Tanky as hell. Enjoy watching the enemy team blow everything on me and me still not dying.
