We see the more expensive component of this item (ogre club) is strength classified

First of all... how many strength heroes are ranged? Dragon Knight? Huskar?

Keep in mind that most ranged heroes are also intelligence...

Why not take the stout shield and its 50% chance to block 9 damage on ranged heroes and add to it a 50% chance to do an additional 9 damage output on basic attacks at the cost of mana...

With the mana cost, the price of the shield would not have to be reworked....

Maybe it would be interesting if there was a mini stun on this effect since we understand mana as "special" and only converting to raw damage seems contradictory

This would help us in determining what to call this effect...

Shield...... Crash?

Why not Divine Shield Crash to associate it with mana specialization?

Of course I am kidding here, but I demonstrate that I am thinking with the amusement....

The irony here would be in the fact that I was right in my previous thread which seemingly resulted the changes in 7.07 in regard to the confusion of "Armor Piercing" and "Pure Damage" on MKB as they are really just one and the same thing....

But now Dragon Lance could actually be an Intelligence Classified Item by replacing Ogre Club with a Staff of Wizardry in Dragon Lance....

Attack Range being extended on the intel class like its suppose to...

Since the Intels are not suppose to be more durable with extended attack range... they are just suppose to support their role better

Sniper creates a misunderstanding in the game because when we think of him we think that he so heavily fills the agility concept....

As if "Aiming" is such an agile thing... but that is actually the deception here

Remember that Sniper's Ultimate is a magic damage Nuke

And that would be classified more as intelligence related concept

And then we would finally ask why Hurricane Pike is Dominant agility and Submissive Intelligence

With even all 3 stat classes on it....

In final note, In regard to "divine shield crash" I think that this effect would have to be an activated passive which triggers 100% of the time, otherwise it just ends up being another thing that supports agility heroes more since agility heroes would trigger this more frequently with their higher attack speed...

This, right here... is the change we've truly all been waiting for... along with the proper dragon lance

Mind you that we are still all aware of the danger of the game becoming a true "defense of the ancients"

And the game potentially moving along more slowly because of this

How do we make it right but not boring?

Maybe this "divine shield crash"

Also works on towers!?

Hell, they could just call the activated passive "shield bash" with no bonus damage

Just a mini stun at the cost of some mana

They could even consider doing a high chance but at the cost of mana every time, familiar to the 75% chance proc of the new mkb if it seemed over powered

Another thing is, now that mkb is not the item for stun and we resort to skull basher

We need echo saber double strike to also work on ranged heroes

(Of course it doesn't enhance anything at max attack speed)

This way getting a skull basher on a ranged hero could be viable with an echo saber

Ranged heroes have half the chance to trigger procs as it is....

Melee heroes get cleave...

And after all the above I say, Einstein was right.... I tried to tell Blizzard that he was...

"It seems our biggest problem is a perfection of means and a confusion of aims" - Einstein

Dragon Lance being a perfect example of an attempt to perfect the means while failing by confusing the aims

(longer attack range, greater durability? wtf?)

Now go and bury blizzard and their hypocrisy of class with out fulfilling the mastery of classification

It is only about the money for them.... prove it.

Unfortunately I have to add on to this thread a point that combines both gripes I've had together in to one creative idea.... and just end it there.

I've always complained about blade mail and its intel theme, and on this thread I'm complaining about intel heroes not having their "unique defensive nitch"

Combine them both together and what do you have?

A level 2 blade mail that can be set on "active-passive" which slowly drains mana over time and when one is hit while it is on active will mini stun the opponent at the price of an additional flat mana cost. This would definitely lean the item in to "intel classification" as it was ultimately meant to do.

Not sure if it would even necessarily have to reflect damage either...

The concept of reflecting damage is meant to be used WITH life pool anyways, especially with the armor

I guess this all depends on what their uniqueness is all about as forementioned

This is so familiar to the complaints about the zerg race in starcraft

it's as though that being worse was equivalent to being unique, and wouldn't be the same, or as exciting, or as good with out this clear flaw in to the negative

Or an active passive on the item shield that brings block 9 above 18 to 27 for ranged heroes but drains mana over time to keep the 27 block active
