Shadow Amulet makes you invisable while channaling Upheaval, and about the Shadow blade its only if you want to (being invis helps to initiate and more).
Buying soul Ring is instead Arcane boots, you dont need the Arcane boots at all but when you do run out of mana you have your Soul ring.
