Hi,I've started playing DotA 2 just this year. I'm not a pro player but I'm quite good with some heroes,so I've decided to make this guide. Please forgive me if i make any gramma or any language errors,English is not my native tongue.
I've saw guides on Bane, usually people play bane as a hard support, ward here ward there and buying couriers. When i see Bane being played this way,it is such a pain. Bane can be support, but i play bane as a semi-lane support and as a killer. Playing bane doesn't require much practice or experience, just have fun making people sh*t their pants. Well, read on for my choice justification.
Pros
-Does not depend very on much on items
-can easily kill 1v1 battles or even 1v2 battles
-have a good escape tool(nightmare)
-fairly good stat growth
Cons
-low base health
-low base mana
-squishy early game
-need a hell lot of mana
Alright, here it is. I usually play bane on the top and bottom lane. Nightmare at lvl1 is a very good choice,it helps you to escape when you are getting targeted early game at about 1st-4th minute mark. Some players will harass bane to make sure that bane does not farm well. they might even surprise attack you from the forest. When you are low on health and you are running to save your a**, nightmare one of the enemies most preferable the spell caster so he couldn't spell your a** to death before you can run.
Then you max out your Brain Sap. Now,this skill is your early harass and nuke. Spam this skill every cool down and every soul ring cool down on a single target ONLY, always that one hero. That hero would have to use out his tango and healing salve and even better make trips back and forth to the fountain. This means less money less exp for that hero. If you are laning with a good partner, you might even get to kill a target hero at lvl 3. Just spam Brain Sap and auto atk a hero till half or manybe 1/3 of his life, alert you partner to help you at this and when you think the time is right just Night mare and then Brain Sap combo.
At lvl6, this is the time you shine the most. All you have to do is Nightmare one hero and then cast Ulti on the other, this guarantee will make you kill at least one hero and leave the other hero running for his life be at half life or if you're lucky-"DOUBLE KILL!"
You must make sure you are participating in all the team clashes. Bane is a real pain in the a** at that point. Okay, here's how you do it. First, wait for your team mate to initiate battle or you could initiate battle depends on circumstances, then you come out and cast Nightmare on one of their disablers then you cast Fiend's Grip on the other or you could target their tankiest hero. With you presence at team clashes, the opposing team will have two less heroes to participate well in clashes. then repeat the whole thing all over again.
Bane does not depend on items much, just your core would be more than enough. I finish most of my games just by having this items and a buttload of money. When i want to Win games, i wold always pick Bane.
And always last pick Bane after your enemies have picked, so they wouldn't have any choice to pick other heroes to counter you.
Soul Ring-solving mana issues
Arcane Boots-solving your poor low base mana issue
Aghanim Scepter-Lots of stats and for your ultimate...'duh'
Shiva's Guard-provide slow in team clashes and very good aura
Linken's Sphere-mana issues and to avoid targeted skills, like Lion's stun and ultimate
Orchid Malevolence-can cast silence and good mana regen
Scythe of Vyse-disables your enemy for 3.5 seconds, also providing good stats and mana regen
Eul's Scepter of Divinity-a good choice if your are in need to protect yourself from different spells and you can also interrupt your enemies
Blink Dagger-initiate team battles
Necronomicon-summon two dudes to fight by your side, good for pushing and have true sight
Items to avoid
Dagon-lol...really? you don't need to steal kills from people
Refresher Orb-you won't even have enough mana to cast any spells after activating this
Crimson Guard-just why wold you build this?
Abyssal Blade-lol,you're not really an auto-attacker
That's it so far!
So far this is the guide to my style of playing Bane. I hope you really enjoyed this guide and hopefully you find it helpful. But my work is not done yet. There might be things I simply forgot to mention as well as many orthography mistakes besides from all the grammar one's. I apologize for my quite poor english skills and hope you will help me to find out the remaining mistakes.
