In which way do Techies counter rat dota? Furion and Lycan wreck Techies so hard it's not even funny. Any summons like trees and wolves make land mines and stasis traps explode on contact. And these guys always build , the ultimate Techies counter. A single necro 3 essentially makes Techies useless because you can sweep mines at will with the necros. No, seriously, as soon as Techies come out, I'm going to play a lot more Furion ^^
And don't get me started on or who can just grab a , and send illusions *with true sight* who can minesweep on their own without taking any risk.
I fear that rat dota counters Techies, not the other way around :)

I think the point is they help stop early pushes, if the lycan/furion isn't smart and stay with the creeps then they all die. But the smart one will send one ahead and stop this.

Your new diet for heroes; You will need 4 wards (cuz wards taste better), 1 set of tangoes, 1 mango, 1 cheese.
With this you can make a nice Tango Mango Cheese platter. You can wash this all down with a nice bottle of water, Can be flavoured with red, green, yellow, blue, purple AND GOLD!
Caution: Taking roshan 3 times is required.

Techies are OP but kind of boring to play. I've been doing some beta playing with them. The people that play DotA for enjoyment won't like them that much.

Of course they are not OP. Just like saying that with Agh's is OP. It looks like that on paper, but it's by no means OP. Only, if you are very new to Dota.
Anyway, that hero kinda counters Terrorblade, since he has paper HP early and with half HP he won't rather use , so can Suicide and kill him.

I hate Soul Keeper.
