Well, actually, it's so greedy and takes so long to come online that if you win with it, especially given the hero's timing window (~20-30 minutes, 85+ minutes), you were almost certainly gonna win anyway. Sorry LD, you don't get to be Overpowered Warden.

Octarine Core on Night Stalker. Permanent night (almost)...but you pay the cost of a Scythe of Vyse for an item that does nothing outside of this.

I actually saw a team in the TI5 qualifiers (can't remember who) go for the aghs+octo core on Night Stalker for eternal nighttime.

^ Yes I know I've seen it in a competitive game once, can't remember when.

It's just with those items like Lotus Orb that you need in almost every game these days, and a lot of other utility items like halberd, AC, blink-sheep or abyssal, etc...it feels a bit silly to not have a better use for 6K gold :)

The vision reduction is really strong tho. But it's not like you need it permanently for it to work.
