In a way, yes.

The MMR you calibrate at is based mostly on your hidden MMR that you currently have from playing unranked. The 10 calibration games matter very little in comparison to this.

So what you should do right now is get your unranked MMR up before you calibrate. The more time you spend getting up that unranked MMR, the higher you'll calibrate.

If you calibrate at a low MMR you'll be stuck there for a long time because MMR goes up and down reaaallly slowly. So better to do what it takes to calibrate high in the first place.

No. What Blubbles meant is get more match experience by playing atleast 500-600 hrs of dotka. By that time, you'd have understood the game a lot better than your current level of understanding (possibly). Then, try ranked.

Just don't even played ranked till you have 1000+ hours. You will get stuck in a low MMR hole, because Dota is bad at calibrating, you wont be able to keep up, and will fall behind on lose streaks which will decrease your morale. Maybe you can do it but typically thats the pattern.

Sorry. Not trying to be pessimistic. Just warning you.
