I came across this video on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wO0vxZEmPIc
It got me thinking, are there really OP drafts? If you get certain 5 players will you most certainly win?

Thinking along these lines i want suggestions and feedbacks on what drafts, strats can be employed to increase that winning chance all things remaining same. darafts and strategy that if not counterred will wreck the enemy.

What do you think is an OP draft by definition and post a sample of that draft.

Until then, yours truly.

I heard magic resistance and magic immunity are supposed to be good versus magic nukers.

These are rather tested strats. I was thinking something on lines of

Naga Siren and Sniper.
They make a good team. While naga run interference, sniper can do some damage. Later in the game, naga comes online and you can call it gg.

. Then there is Disruptor and Ancient Apparition.

I personally don't think there are any objectively OP drafts, rather there are simply times where you get outdrafted (Since drafting isn't just pick 5 heroes).

That and a lot of drafts like that are only truly amazing with suprise. Take Virtus Pro's post TI4 drafts with Bristleback, Jakiro and Skywrath Mage for example. It won many games very easily for about 2 weeks or so, and could've been considered OP at the time. But given time, it was adapted to, and was no longer considered as such.

Besides, I'd also argue that any draft will probably 'wreck the enemy' if not countered

Since you just can't have enough Chaos Breaker.

I have a premonition. This thread is going to go the escape durable disabler way. I don't want it to go that way.

My motive was only to pick out certain drafts that have synergies. At that outset, i wanted to identify certain hero pairings thay can be considered OP.

Countering is not meant by out drafting them, rather preventing what they are doing. Example can be made with void drafts: dont stick up and let them throw chronos on you rather than grouping up as 5 man pushes. I agree there are no wreking face drafts 100%. But are there not drafts that will come behind and bite you on the *** if left unattended?

But i seem to have struck a wrong chord.
There no durable escape disablers. Just putting it out. So i d ont get flamed

EDIT: did you watch the video? Its pretty entertaining.

i myself like to tell my team to rush Blademails if i see sh*t like this in the picking stage :3

Edit: i am assuming you dont want to make this about lane- but rather overall teamfight- and skill-synergy. On the top of my head Naga Siren + Undying and Sandking + Darkseer come to mind.

As Phoenix recently became available in CM, I think Phoenix + Void would be a pretty good sleketon for a teamfight-oriented team. Just fill the emty slots with Sand King, Earthshaker, Zeus, Venomancer, Nature's Prophet et cetera.

Another team composition I had good results with revolves around a scouting Hero (Nyx, BH or Clinkz) and then either Spectre/ Nature's Prophet or an Io-based global ganking duo (CK, Sven, Gyro, Tiny...): you find a lone Hero, slow/stun them and wait for your teammates to come and finish the job. You can put this at extreme levels with what I call the "global ganking team": Beastmaster, Tinker, Visage, Lifestealer and an extra support. Both BM's hawk and Visage's familiars are valid target for Boots of Travel, and N'aix can get inside Tinker for global ganks.

Tbh I think Phoenix is still very underwhelming. The only really viable way to play it is as greedy support, but even then the impact it will have on the game falls of a lot when BKBs are up.
The problem is most Phoenix players don't know 2 ***** about positioning so they start their ult whenever and whereever. If you get a good Reverse Polarity/ Black Hole/ Chronosphere as setup it can do some work, but the stun and damage are very weak compared to let's say Chaotic Offering (as in CO is only delayed by cast animation while Supernove has a long timer.

Thank you peppo!
This was exactly what I was talking about!

I meant overall game play only. Blade mail strategy Oz too op.saw a team rush mass blade mails to counter Keeper of the Light.

I dont think phoenix is not viable in drafts, mainly so if you know the objective that is too catch the enemy in a double jeopardy position. They lose and get stunned if they stay and get picked off if they retreat. Chasers like nyx and aoe stuns are good setups for phoenix but you still can manage without it imo.
Another overlooked facet is his sun ray, people just seem to forget about it.
