I only played DotA a bit(before I lost one of the WC3 disks) and I've been playing LoL a fair bit. Mind explaining to this newbie the differences in role for DotA and whats different between a Hyper-Carry and a regular Carry(and if there are Hyper caster etc.)

In Dota a hyper carry is a carry that is so strong they take the whole team to kill while dishing out crazy amounts of damage, enough to kill the team. They do need crazy amounts of gold to become hyper carries. Spectre is seen as a Hyper Carry since he blocks so much damage with vanguard and despersion, while returning a % of the damage to all those around him. Think Thornmail in LoL with Sion's Passive.

The closest thing to hyper carry in LoL is Vayne, because when farmed and not focused, Vayne rips hell on the team (% true damage is a broken concept imo). But you can focus vayne down since she is rather fragile.

Watch some of the Dota International replays of a farmed Spectre and you can see how long it takes to kill him, while seeing how much damage he can do

I hope the game is F2P and that they have a double payment system like in LoL.

One time purchase for sure. Dota doesn't need to compete for a player base as it still maintains a strong one on its own. Surely the Valve connection will bring in a lot more steam-based players as well.
Are you not entertained?

F2P for sure! - Well atleast just in the beginning then maybe as the community grows to find out how great this game is then can start adding charges to the game. but i defintly think it should start F2P for sure

I dont know... LoL makes so much money off of champion purchases alone then adds to it with skins. And apparently Dota2 has more champs than LoL, seems like it would make more sense to offer a certain number of champs at the "Buy the Game" price, say 40, then have others made purchasable by in game currency earned or bought. I am 100% sure micro transactions for skins etc will be there. I would prefer to have 1 time fee all champions but seeing as how the f2p model has exploded on the seen in both mobile games and real pc/console games its hard for me to believe valve will miss out on this opportunity to make money. They are a great company but all companies want to make money and then making more money is their #1 goal. 1st rule of business. :)

P.S. Those saying they want F2P dont understand economics. One time fee all champs is WAAAAAAY cheaper than F2P. Just pony up the cash and you never have to spend another dime or if you do its just for cosmetcis. Where as F2P you get suckered in with how much fun it is but there is always another champ you want to play and you dont want to wait so you spend 5 dollars here 10 dollars there next thing you know you've spent 250 bucks on a free game over a years time. When you could have just spent 60 bucks and be done with it. Its the reason F2P is taking over as the new standard. You make more money in the long run than 1 time fees and it draws in everyone who may not pay money initially. Win Win for the company.

I think the game will be one time purchase with micropayments to complete skins or some stuff.

F2P is good for small companies like Riot os S2games when they started the projects but Valve is big and they don´t need new players only buyers. The old DotA community will try the game for sure. They did the a payment before with Warcraft 3 and now they will do again I think.

And in a long term of time, F2P will cost much more than one time payment.

I am pretty sure valve will make you pay for the game which is completely fine in my opinion in that case we will have ALL champions available to us free of charge and if they go as far as skins I would not be surprised most likely charge for skins either way it will be a blast to play :D
