It’s Happening

Well, there's 16 teams and 5 different positions to guess (#5 and #6 are interchangable). I think it's fair to assume that only the 11 invited Teams are likely to get into the top 4 (I think Mouz have a shot at #5/6 though), so pick the 6 strongest Teams from the 11 and try to order them.

Na'vi and DK will most likely be in the top 3 imo, probably with EG and iG filling in hte other 2 top 4 spots. Not too sure who'l come #5-6 though.

I know they usually perform well during The International, but they're definitely not top 6 material on recent showings, let alone top 3.

DK, NewBee, IG, EG, Alliance look the strongest, with the three Chinese teams significantly ahead IMO. Not sure who 6th best team is. Cloud9 or Empire I suppose, when they're playing well.

You must not have been around for the buildup to TI3, their performance now doesn't matter, it's their performance to come that I'm thinking of. They're not known for performing at their best before the International.

Alliance wouldn't be in the top 5 right now either, nor would newbee. Watching the recent big LAN events it would be: IG, EG, DK, Fnatic, Vici, in that order. Fnatic hinging on Era's mind state. Navi is a toss up, who knows really they've done this every international. DK and IG are probably the 2 most favored to win it all.

I was around. I just feel like teams in general are far better now than they have been at previous events, and Na'Vi have fallen off. I'd honestly be surprised to see them top 3. Top 6 I can see happening because I can't actually pick a 6th best team currently, but I wouldn't necessarily expect it.

You mean the NewBee that were recently on par with DK nearly? Their 17 matches ended up DK 9:8 NewBee.

Vici aren't as good as the other 3 Chinese teams unfortunately.

May oray not but results recently show Vici Placing higher than newbee.

We'll see when the tournament begins I suppose. I place Vici Gaming on Tier 2 teams, alongside Cloud 9, Na'Vi, Fnatic, Empire.

Still, if they do well, more power to them. :-)

Problem is, because there's a $10mil dollar tournament coming up, no one is going to bring their A-Game.

It's hard to deny that DK, iG and EG are among at least the top 6, but Na'vi may not be the only ones who are playing "badly" right now.

Personally, I think Alliance will do better than most people expect, at least top 8 probably, maybe even top6.

As much as I love Empire, I don't think their recent success will continue in the main tournament, there are too many unknown variables that can take them down, and I doubt they'll play much better than they're already playing right now. They'll probably fall to one of the Teams considered to be playing "badly", e.g. Alliance probably, or maybe Vici or Na'vi.

Same for Cloud9, they look kinda strong, but I don't see them being contenders for the top4 for similar reasons to Empire.

I have low expectations for Fnatic too if they don't get Era back, and even if they do, he's going to miss out on a boot camp and not necessarily be at 100%. It's a same, but they've too much damage to have good odds this year. 8{(

Don't know much about NewBee, Titan or Vici tbh ._.
