Valve announced season 1 of the Fantasy League. The season will go from May 19th through July 28th. One can play in a league with up to nine other players. The fantasy teams acquire players through a live draft at a predetermined time. After the draft, teams play in head-to-head games every week with the winner being decided by which fantasy players scored the most points in their real matches.
Let's say someone had SingSing, who just came off a stellar week where he had 30 kills 4 deaths and 80 assists over 3 games (these aren't real stats). They'll get a ton of points after calculating the kills and assists and subtracting the paltry amount of deaths. I'm sure everyone has played some sort of fantasy sports but what it basically boils down to is your players have to do better in their real matches than your opponent's players did in their matches.
The points breakdown is like this:
0.3 points per kill
-0.3 points per death
0.15 points per assist
0.003 points per last hit
0.002 points per gold per minute
0.002 points per XP per minute
0.07 points per seconds of enemy stuns
0.0004 points per allied healing done
1 point tower kill
1 point per Roshan kill
Each team has eight players on their team. The team has five spots in the active roster: 2 cores, 2 support, 1 any. The other three players get placed on the bench where they don't receive points for the team. The fantasy team owner can move anyone from the bench to the active roster when they feel like it but rosters do lock each day at midnight GMT.
An owner can drop a player that isn't living up to their standards. When they drop the player the system will allow them to pick up a player that is considered a free agent. If multiple teams try to pick up the same free agent, the priority will go to the team with the worst record. Unfortunately, trading players is not supported.
Just because I'll be glad to be one of the lowest ranked players Sure what the hell.
