Well i was thinkng about the double boots idea, IMHO some kind og heroes should benefit froom 2 pair of boots, i mean Centaur Warrunner has 4 legs=>2pair of boots! Even if following this way of thinking, for the whole balancing thing, you should pu 4 boots on broodmother, and no boots ond Naga or viper.
That bring us to the main part of the discussion, wath about batrider? i mean, surely the rider has two leg, so he should wear boots, but wath about the bat???????
I really only got one last thing to say here in regard to MoM....
I recognize that the MoM was not intended for the melee character concept unless you are a melee character that can close a gap real fast...
Why? because you are enhancing damage to yourself against ranged focus fire in the gap that you must run in order to close...
You could run it quick with phase on tranq and MoM but axe still has his 290 base speed.
It's not like we are talking about the chaos knight here....
Therefore... why is it inappropriate for axe to lane with, oh, let's just stick with the dark seer here since it is a great combo, and then the dark seer can get a force staff?
Wouldn't the force staff be like one of the prime items recommended so that Dark Seer can do this? I mean especially with axe....
Ok, so what we got here is a dark seer with boots of travel, phase, and force staff, with axe and his tranq, phase and MoM.
Dark seer pops ion on axe, then force staffs axe to close the gap, then axe pops his Q... now if the opponents decide to turn their back on axe, can he not just pop mask of madness + phase to hunt them down?
Seems legit to me, just a guarunteed way to keep the enemy attacking him so that he swings his axe more, and the speed keeps the axe on them with its shorter range....
I guess I must admit that force staff is the key to making MoM legit here, but it must be admited that it does well for farming and getting somewhere with out using a tp.
Ok, so maybe scratch the dark seer since he has surge, but I mean most any other intel hero...
I hate myself...why am I posting to reply to this? Must be the beer...
Anyway...why go to all the trouble of spending thousands of gold to get this effect on a hero who is only really damaging if the enemy is attacking him within melee range? Why not combo DS with a Night Stalker - Ion Shell + Surge him, he runs in, casts Void and then easily chases them down with Hunter in the Night. Better effect...gold cost 0.
Same with Pudge, he can make the enemy come to him, and keep them there. You don't need all this expensive and otherwise ineffective equipment to make these combos work, there are heroes that can do it for you. There's no need to spend tons of money on multiple pairs of boots and a highly situational item that is for high DPS heroes only. Slows and stuns do the same job of getting you in a position to kill someone.
After reading this, I can't stop myself from stating my point. Gonna block Kyfoid so I don't read anymore of his junk.
Axe is not suppose to chase, he's suppose to blink, taunt and spin. If you're using MoM and Phase to chase, it means you probably suck at axe and you better go train your axe properly. People take arcane boots to cover his ****ty mana pool which stops him from using battle hunger as a harassing tool.
Furthermore, axe uses culling helix to deal most of his damage (possibly culling blade with Aghs) as his main damage source, not right clicking.
MoM is normally use by someone who can bash or get a guaranteed kill with it. Why do most higher-ranking players don't use MoM? Because it makes you squishier. Unless you're Faceless or something, getting MoM is plain suicide when players know what and who to target first.
