I'm so glad this is over. Now that we've rewarded a bunch of non-forum people that will not stick around and the feed is no longer poisoned by the giveaway, the forum can start breathing again.

As I said last year. I share Cuttles disdain for this giveaway.
This is not even salt anymore. I hate it.

Guys, try to think from the owners of the site point of view. There is a reason why they do giveaways and contests, and it s not to please the regulars. They have the right to do so, since they own the site and they need to get some kind of real compensation for that (besides our gratefulness lol). So lets be a bit less ungrateful and look at this as a necessity like any other, please.

To be honest I fail to see any benefit from those giveaways. Literally zero new active members appeared because of the giveaway, and no new guides, and I'm pretty sure that the increase in readers is so marginal it's not worth it from any point of view.

I'm not the site owner though, so probably there is something I don't know that they do, but IMO it's quite an ineffective desperate move to gain popularity, if that's the main purpose of those giveaways.

Yeah and it's actually like not showing appreciation for the guys who do a lot for this site.
Think about all the guide writers out there. At least give them a token of respect...
